The artist T.I.G.G.A, formerly known as HERBICIDE is a colourful character from the Dirty South East Coast. He blends old school UK hip hop and modern Rap to express his life story, using gritty and personal lyricism to give insight to the many challenges he has overcome. He takes inspiration from a wide variety of genres, from jazz to punk, and has multiple generations of musical lineage. He grew up in a musical household, with his father and grandfather both being artists in the industry. He often heard the space echoing dubplates of Lee scratch Perry at his dad's, and the swinging trumping and dulcet tones of Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald at his mums. Music became one of his only escapes from the challenges he was surrounded by. Having struggled with trauma and mental health instability from the get go, he found that creating music was one if the only ways he could find himself locked into something that uplifted his mindset. He is currently trying to assemble an EP, spread across many different producers based in his hometown and beyond. He has experience performing live, but prefers to stay away crowded venues as hes not much of a people person these days, but he looks forward to becoming more flexible with this and performing live again. #newmusic #songwriter #artist #hiphop #rap #musicaltherapy by @keychangesmusic
Honoured to have been part of the storytelling of FLORID, the breathtakingly bold and beautiful new film from director @billylumby An amazing cast and crew bring to life a complex, hard-hitting yet tender and lovingly humorous exploration of a young man’s lived experience of schizophrenia and his journey through the bewildering maze of mental health treatment and care. On a hospital ward, the main character, Jamal, encounters a Key Changes music workshop before finding his way to the stage at one of our open mics. Some of our artists feature in the film alongside extraordinary, authentic performances from an inspiring cast of professional actors and people from London’s mental health community. #FLORID #LondonFilmFestival #Britishfilm #musicandmentalhealth #psychosisawareness #fightingstigma #creativehealth by @keychangesmusic

Making Liverpool More Liveable is a suicide-prevention music mentoring programme for boys and men across Merseyside, particularly those experiencing mental health challenges, emotional distress, social isolation or increased suicide risk. Through professional studio sessions, artist development and peer-led wellbeing support, participants: Write, record and produce original music Build trusted relationships with mentors and peers Express difficult emotions through music Strengthen confidence, resilience and a sense of purpose Delivered through professional recording studio sessions in Liverpool, alongside weekly online artist development sessions with music industry experts and peer-facilitated Musicians’ Wellbeing sessions, the programme is designed to reach boys and men earlier — before distress develops into crisis. A major thank you to the Mark McQueen Foundation and the Community Foundations for Lancashire and Merseyside for making this work possible. Music can be more than an outlet. 🎶 Music is more than entertainment for Jevenen — it is a form of healing and self-expression. 🎶 Jevenen is an eclectic hip-hop artist whose music combines powerful lyricism with influences from hip-hop and pop. His passion for music began during childhood in Zimbabwe, listening to old cassette tapes and singing with friends. Since then, writing, dancing, performing and creating music have become lifelong passions. Through music, Jevenen reflects on his life, processes difficult experiences and expresses thoughts and emotions that can be hard to put into words. Writing music helps Jevenen understand his journey, grow and move forward. Through his work with Key Changes, Jevenen is continuing to develop new music and use songwriting as a positive outlet for creativity, wellbeing and self-expression. #positivementalhealththroughmusic #keychanges #creativehealth #musicindustry #mentoring #hiphopartist #singersongwriter #musicandmentalhealth #Zimbabweanartist #newmusic by @keychangesmusic
