Some spent the past few days trying to prove me wrong.
Instead they proved my point...
Over and over and over and over again.

It's fine.
I'll be up here. ⛰️

Ladies, keep speaking up.
You are not alone.

And remember: anything a troll says about you says everything about who they are and absolutely nothing about you.
Nothing. 💙

Travel always gives you more than the itinerary shows. 🌍
While in Zimbabwe, Jonathan and I dropped into the Victoria Falls Boxing Academy for a workout and ended up walking out with one of the most meaningful experiences of our trip.
The owner, Tobias Mupfuti, stopped by while we were there, and what we learned about him truly touched us both. Tobias grew up homeless and abused on the streets of Victoria Falls, surviving completely on his own, and he taught himself to box as a way to survive.
Fast forward to now, and Tobias and his wife, Shuvai, have founded the Victoria Falls Boxing Academy to teach discipline, confidence, and other life skills, along with an orphanage, rescuing children from the same streets Tobias grew up fighting for his life on. The two of them feed, house, and pay school fees for the children through a combination of personal resources and community aid.
Tobias's extraordinary story is the inspiration for Rise, a short film that has screened at 50 festivals, won 24 awards, played at the Tribeca Festival in New York City, and became the first Zimbabwean film ever to qualify for consideration at the Oscars.

(Guess who else was there at the gym that day? The young boy who played Tobias as a child in the film! We even got to meet him and take pictures together. Some moments you just can't plan.)

This is why we travel, and this is how Fitness connects people across continent, cultures, and true stories. Our only regret is that we didn't have more time to connect with Tobias and enjoy a hike with him below the mighty Falls. Maybe someday!
Tobias, thank you for inviting us into your world, and keep rising. 🙌🏻
By the way, the team behind Rise is working toward turning the short film into a feature-length movie. If you're moved to do so, visit risezimbabwe.com to learn about how you can help bring this story to the audience it deserves. 🌍

I've been told my walk looks like The Terminator. 🦾 Anyone else see the resemblance? 😆 #illbeback #terminator #gymhumor #strongwomen #bikinibody by @kguns_physique

Halloween is a bodybuilder's favorite holiday. 🎃 It's the one night a year we're encouraged to show off. We get to let loose, be silly, and flex what we've been building in the gym all year. 😆Chun-Li is famous for her quads, so I came prepared. A highlight of the night was meeting a second Chun-Li who was absolutely adorable! Someone suggested we fight, but we opted for cute photos instead. 💙 #midlifestrength #chunli #streetfighter #halloweencostume #femalebodybuilder by @kguns_physique

Off with their heads? 👑
No, off with their sleeves! 💪🏼

Last year the Queen of Hearts flexed with my dear friend, the Devil.

Then Bob Ross wanted to paint me, so I flexed for him too. 😆

There are no mistakes, only happy little biceps. 🎨

Happy Halloween! 🎃💀#midlifestrength #queenofhearts #halloweencostume #bobross #femalebodybuilder by @kguns_physique

On a recent post, a troll insinuated I hide my back because it's covered in steroid acne. 🙄
Ummm... Thank you? I'll take that as a compliment, albeit a weird, backhanded one.
Regardless - feel free to have a closer look.
Zero back-ne.

Anyhoo, here's a great rear delt superset I've been using lately on the regular.
You're welcome. 😁 #midlifestrength #reardelts #womenwholift #shoulderworkout #shoulders by @kguns_physique

Remember my first date with the hex bar? I hit 275 and then 295. 💪🏼
Two weeks ago, I pulled 315 for the first time and managed 5 reps. 🔥
You can tell I'm working hard, just look at my PR face. 😆
It's not pretty, but it's 315.
Today, I did 8 reps at the same weight.
Of course, it wasn't on camera. 🤦🏻‍♀️ #itsfine
And yes, this is my 3rd video lately in these pants.
Apparently, I LOVE them.
Shoutout to @violatethedresscode for making them strong enough to handle this. 😎
At 51, I'm still PR-ing and so can you.

Two guys at my gym wear sunglasses every single time.

They don't even come together.
They just both apparently came to the same conclusion — sunglasses at the gym? Yes. 😂

I figured they were stoned.
Then I inadvertently made eye contact with someone while doing glute bridges. 🕶️

I get it now. 🫣

Sunglasses are completely valid gym equipment.
10/10 would recommend.

We're not mad over a joke. Women are angry because we ALL have a story.

Check that. We all have MULTIPLE stories.

I was in the jury box during selection for a trial once. The attorney for the defendant asked me, "If a person doesn't answer, is consent assumed?"

I knew from the prior questions that this was a date rape case.
My answer? "Not if they're passed out."
"Thank you. You are dismissed."

And then I was PISSED. 🤬
Pissed that I'd been truthful and it got me dismissed.
Pissed that I'd miss the chance to be on that jury.
Pissed for HER.

Based on statistics, she likely never got justice but instead was retraumatized repeatedly by the trial itself.

I'll never know the rest of the story.
But somehow, I know the rest of the story. 💔

So when a comedian thinks it's funny to call women whores for wearing shorts at the gym, know that for us it lands on top of a lifetime of stories like this one.

We're not oversensitive. We're exhausted and we're pissed.

Apparently, a "comedian" hosting SNL decided that women who wear shorts at the gym are...that word. 😒

So here I am in my short shorts doing pull-ups. 😎

Of course people look.
Let them!

My butt and hammies look great — if I do say so myself. 😂

And I will wear whatever the F I want to the gym.
Which, by the way, has absolutely nothing to do with whether men look, approve, or comment.

I dress for me. Period. Somedays it's purely for comfort, and others, because I feel strong in what I chose to wear.

Dress however YOU feel confident, powerful, and comfortable. 💪🏼

And screw anyone that judges you for it. 😝

I met a woman the other day who was handed a packet of testosterone gel and told to take 1/10 of it per day with...

No way to measure that accurately.
No follow up labs scheduled.
No educational component whatsoever.
No conversation about what to expect or what to watch for.
...just — it'll help with muscle tone. 😤

Her testosterone level was 10. She wasn't told what that means for HER body.
She eats approximately 1,200 calories a day and genuinely believed testosterone alone would help her build muscle!

Meanwhile I average 2,600-2,800 calories per day. Plus, a little more on leg days — which happen twice a week.

And I've been strength training seriously for 20 years. 💪🏼

Muscle CANNOT grow without fuel. Full stop.

Here's what's infuriating: women are being handed hormones with zero education.
No conversation about what these hormones actually do. No discussion of what optimal levels look like FOR YOUR specific body.

No follow up.
No labs.
NOTHING.

Our hormones affect our muscle, our metabolism, our mood, our bone density, our mental health, our sleep quality, and our sexual health. Everything!
And somehow we're getting packets with no instructions while men get detailed consultations about medications that affect ONE thing. 😤

We deserve better.

Here's what quality hormone health care SHOULD look like:

✅ A thorough initial consultation
✅ Baseline labs BEFORE starting any hormone therapy
✅ A personalized protocol based on YOUR levels and YOUR symptoms
✅ Regular follow up appointments
✅ Ongoing lab monitoring to adjust as needed
✅ Education about what to expect, what to watch for, and how to advocate for yourself

If you're in the Denver area and looking for quality hormone health care from a provider who will actually have these conversations with you, I have an excellent recommendation.

Can I ask you a question? Are you on testosterone?

Yes. I am.

And I feel like she didn't hear another word after that. 😤

Not the 20 YEARS of serious, heavy, consistent strength training.
Not the fact that my hormone therapy includes estrogen and progesterone support too — it's not all about T.
Not the regular conversations with my nurse practitioner.
Not the frequent lab testing to make sure my levels are actually right FOR ME.

Just — oh, she's jacked because of testosterone.

Here's what I need you to understand:

Hormone therapy is not a shortcut. It's not a magic formula. And what works for one person doesn't automatically work for another. Everyone's levels, needs, and responses are different. That's exactly why ongoing conversations with your provider AND regular lab testing are non-negotiable.

Testosterone at the right level for YOUR body can support muscle building.
But it does not — I repeat, does NOT — replace 20 years of showing up, lifting heavy, and being consistent.

Hormones are a tool. The work is still yours to do. 💪 #MidlifeStrength #HormoneHealth #WomenAndTestosterone #WomenOver40 #HRT by @kguns_physique
