Community is worth more than money can buy. It's that sunshine you feel within on a cold and rainy day. That's what Porque No is about. ❤️

Porque No is a Latin & Caribbean music party in Utrecht. But it's not only a party: from the first edition 5 years ago, a beautiful community has grown around it. People who celebrate life in Utrecht together and help each other out when there's a need for support. Diversity is one of the biggest strengths of Porque No.

Happy to film and edit all those beautiful faces 🙏 by @kibbelingmedia

Let's P L A Y 📸
Last Friday, @geke.bosch asked us (@samuel.a.wagner, @feya_branding_illustratie and her friend Chabi) to go to the heide in Hilversum in the early morning hours. Just to have fun and play around with our cameras. We ended up photographing each other, of course. It was a lot of fun, and I realized I had missed 'just playing around' with the camera. Here's the bunch of pictures I took. Wanna join next time?

Let me introduce you to: TORÓ.
This show was born from my deepest need for expression and connection with my roots.

It turned out beautiful, didn’t it?
TORÓ isn’t just a show — it’s a ritual of liberation and re-enchantment.
And it was only possible because I had these amazing people walking beside me:

🌿 @bruxariadigital – she created the visual concept, and through it, I found myself more than she could ever imagine.
🌸 @esmeeraldcf – costume and stage design. She reads my thoughts before I can even explain them. If she’s not dressing me, I’m not going!
🎥 @disco.duif – went beyond all expectations with this beautiful video and edit. I’m truly in love with it.

There are so many more people I need to thank, I need many posts for that 😂! I will work on it 🙏

TORÓ is just the beginning. May many more rituals like this one come. by @kibbelingmedia

Yesterday, my friend @djpyrana was preparing for her own event on the 12th of April called Território Pyraña, with live music, dj sets, art, dance, capoeira, and food that echo from the roots of Brazil. Expression, celebration and resistance. During the preparation for her new performance called Tóro, she was trying out her outfit for the first time. I was there to capture the moment where conceptual visual (fashion) designer @esmeeraldcf showed Pyraña what she created for her, and it was perfect.

Pyraña: “Territorio Pyrana was born from an unstoppable need - the need to reconnect with my roots, to claim my space, and to be as loud as I need to be. After 21 years living outside of Brazil, I feel like distance has only made me closer. The further I go, the deeper my connection becomes. [..] Toró (rain in Portuguese) isn’t just about sound - it’s a whole experience. Even my outfit tells a story. I’ll be embodying Curupira, the wild spirit of the forest, protector of nature, impossible to catch. Just like him, I walk my own path - backwards if I have to.”

To celebrate this event in the beautiful space of @watdajel_festival is truly wonderful. Host @jesusportalc always welcomes and supports creativity and artists, and special community events like this.

Be there on the 12th of April to experience it!

LONG TIME COMING MUSIC VIDEO OUT NOW!!

Oooooo it's been a long time long time long time my dearest people. After writing so many songs, struggling how to show my face again in the music scene, then meeting @disco.duif / @kibbelingmedia who then wanted to help me making music videos of the songs I wrote, this now is the first result of this project with Angela, the so talented videographer! So thankful for this encounter en what came out of it.

Later today I got a little surprise for you, but for now you can take a look and a listen to my first official release as being JŌTHA.
