It’s been 3 years since we’ve made Woman Who Blooms At Night and in celebration of that we want to share it with the world yet again. It has received accolades such as Achievement in Screenwriting at @skinsfest in 2023 and the Creative Corps Award at @inlandfilmfest in 2024. This film was our first baby and since its creation we have grown so much as filmmakers, writers, and artists. Thank you for being on this journey with us and we can’t make to show you what else we have cooking up. We are honored to announce our first international screening of Yáamay: An Ode to Blooming at @gemsvancouver in Vancouver, BC. Yáamay will be part of the Smoke shorts programme, March 6th, 1PM, with a panel to follow. Screenings for GEMfest will be held at the VIFF Centre - Vancouver. We’d love any of our Canada friends to join us!

So glad to be welcomed back to @skinsfest fest this year! Skinsfest is where we premiered our first film, Woman Who Blooms at Night, 2 years ago. The energy at this festival is unmatched, and we’re so excited to be reunited with friends we’ve made from festivals past.
Yáamay: An Ode to Blooming will be screening Thursday, November 20th at 8 PM at the Chinese Theater in LA. We’d be honored to have all our local friends and family meet us out here for a night of Indigenous film🖤 by @amochifilmsprod

Yáamay: An Ode to Blooming has been making her way through some incredible festivals! Premiering at @imaginethiswomensfilmfestival
in September, we were thrilled to have our first ever east coast screening.
We are excited to announce another east coast screening with @reelsistersfilmfest which we are so honored to be part of. Reel Sisters of the Diaspora Film Festival and Lecture Series is the first Academy qualifying festival devoted to short films produced, directed, and written by women of color.
Come watch Yáamay: An Ode to Blooming on Saturday, October 25th at the 3:50 slot. Screenings for Reel Sisters of the Diaspora Film Festival will be held at 651 Arts 10 Lafayette Ave, Brooklyn, NY. by @amochifilmsprod

We would love to formally introduce ourselves as Móchi Films, a film production company founded by @kihuut and @piwiishology

Whether around a fire, a table, or on a screen, stories are what drive us to keep going. Stories can tell us more about who we are, just as much as they can show us who others are.

Stemming from the Payómkawish language of its founding members, ‘Móchi’ means to weave. It is a specific kind of weave, one that twines elements together to form baskets that are adaptable and versatile. We are filmmakers who aim to weave stories akin to these baskets, connecting and tying moments together, creating a fabric of emotion, imagery, and sound.

Woman Who Blooms At Night had its LA premiere at @skinsfest so surreal! this week has been filled with so many emotions. i’m so grateful to have such a supportive team by my side who helped make this monumental film. We won the Achievement in Screenwriting, Camaray opened her heart and story to the world with grace and compassion. Can’t wait to make more films with her; she truly is an upcoming powerhouse screenwriter. @piwiishology taken in TCL Chinese Theatres by @amochifilmsprod
