Fashion Trend Zine Workshops โœ‚๏ธ Iโ€™ve been doing some workshops with FE fashion students @thenorthernart (ages 16-18). After an introduction to zines and their history, they were each given a @wgsn fashion trend to focus on, and tasked with creating a collaged mini-zine to reflect it. Being a very digitally-engaged generation I wasnโ€™t sure how it would go, if they would find it interesting or not. To my surprise, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive! Many said they found it a really relaxing task that they could โ€œlock inโ€ on, and enjoyed using their hands for a couple of hours. Some wanted to continue making more in their own time, and took magazines home to do so. As a print lover this makes me soooo happy! Itโ€™s easy to head straight to the internet when looking for inspiration, but I do believe you access a different side of your brain when you create something unique from the materials in front of you ๐Ÿง  by @kimberley_creative

The Burberry Trench: Crafting an Icon ๐Ÿงฅ A free exhibition at the @vamuseum! A concise history from its origins as practical outerwear and military attire to a world-renowned icon of fashion. The 90s Art & Fashion at @tate Britain ๐Ÿ‘ Really enjoyed this exhibition curated by Edward Enninful. Also check out the latest @ee72 magazine which features 9 double covers of 90s supermodels and famous faces of today on the reverse. #tatebritain #the90s #the90sartandfashion #edwardenninful #exhibition by @kimberley_creative

A recent collage ๐Ÿฆ‹ by @kimberley_creative
I couldnโ€™t choose! When I saw the 9 different covers for the latest @ee72 magazine (actually 18 if you count the front and back), I was so torn which issue to go for. Eventually I landed on the Em Rata / Naomi Campbell version, just because I LOVE the Ellen Von Unwerth shot. 9 models of today (all born in the 90s), and on the reverse, archival images of THE supermodels that defined the decade: Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss and more. Luckily, I was able to see all the covers in person at @uniquemagazines before picking one! Such a great concept and issue. Iโ€™m also looking forward to visiting the accompanying exhibition (The 90s: Art and Fashion at @tate Britain) when Iโ€™m in London in a couple of weeks time ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ Which one would you have chosen? by @kimberley_creative

The sound on this video sums it up ๐Ÿ’• My job is to create but itโ€™s usually a product for someone else. So any time I get to create just for me, it brings me so much joy! Thank you @uniquemagazines and @lost.lettersfound for reminding us how important that is in last nights zine workshop. I also loved hearing more about Sharonโ€™s creative past (experimenting in fashion, creating shirts out of paper all those years ago - itโ€™s in her blood!) I always say it, but meeting likeminded people at these events always blows my mind. What do you mean you like sniffing paper too? ๐Ÿ˜‚ What I loved most is celebrating imperfection. Nobody is there to create something perfect, the joy is in the doing and the flaws make it better. Also, youโ€™re never too old to use your hands and play! #uniquemagazines #zineworkshop #analogue #zinemaking #collagezine by @kimberley_creative
