A little about me: Reading has always been an escape for me. I married a reader, and we made a reader too! I spent most of my teaching career trying to encourage reluctant readers. My answer when someone hates reading: “you just haven’t met the right book yet!”

My favorite book genres: fantasy, romantasy, historical fiction, memoir, biographies, and history. But I will read anything if a friend hypes it enough! I’m finally writing full time to publish my debut novel this year.

My other hobbies are creating things! I love sewing and making things you can wear. I recently got into theatrical costumes because my daughter is a theatre kid! I have made my daughter’s Halloween costumes (like in the picture) almost every year.

I also suffer from adhd and anxiety, and I spend my life chasing that creative high while also balancing relational energy with the people that I love the most. I work out for the health, for time with my family, and general well-being. Interestingly (or frustratingly) i tried to manage my mental health with meds, exercise, and therapy which is essential. BUT perimenopause rudely interrupted that process and so here I am writing about it in a fantasy setting. (See upcoming debut fantasy novel) by @kimclevenger.author

So I wrote one ☝️ príomha coming Spring/Summer 2027!!

I’m so excited to introduce you to my world!! Badass matriarchy, warrior queen, late onset magic, lovers to enemies, besties, and found families… can’t wait!!

I’m a retired English and writing teacher, and I can’t tell you how many of my students denied the importance of revising. Now that I’m a debut novel writer, I know how they felt!! 😂 It’s going to be so so good. I just have to do the dang work. Anyone have other author books to recommend for me?? by @kimclevenger.author

Don’t underestimate us.

OMG!! The tide is finally turning! Let’s celebrate this historic moment, but we have tons of work to do.

I see you, Madame Governor @keishaforga and @jonossoff

Since I started posting as a reader and a writer, I personally wanted to get to know real humans and supporting authentic human work. Being vigilant about your own creative processes is one way to avoid AI. I’m also shocked as how AI is exploding into every space. It’s unbelievable that it is changing everything. We definitely need to figure out the guardrails for this tech.

I think that any protest needs people to show up. How can we expect improvement if we step back? A friend used to say, pain brings about change. I don’t think it applies in all circumstances, but what really impacts the big businesses like Meta… money.

I’m absolutely not an expert in marketing or tech or social media.

I’d like to think I’d decent at being a human. I am curious about other cultures, voices, and power. We need people to create art to help the rest of us to learn and grow. I also happen to be a perimenopausal woman that is currently experiencing remarkable changes.

So pretty much, I’m losing my ability to weather bullshit. AI in the creative space is some bullshit. Censoring some stories out of fear of the unknown. That’s some bullshit.

Honestly, some people might think AI isn’t that important. But I bet most of us formed our understanding of the world through books. Nonfiction and fiction teach us about different POVs. We need to encourage humans to keep writing their own stories. We need this.

So yeah. Go vote. Then help us fight the evil forces of Sauron… or Mark Z. 🙌🏻⚔️📚 by @kimclevenger.author

My debut novel hasn’t released YET… but you can get on the ground level!!! I’m totally planning on hitting the bestseller list on release day, and you can be there to help!!

Instead of the world trying to erase women as we age, Príomha honors them. When warriors are at the height of their strength, they develop their ancestral magic. Elders become leaders. Some women choose motherhood, but some mentor and serve their realm in many other ways.

Príomha coming spring 2027
I’ll be looking for ARC readers soon!!

Creating drama around an election is exactly what these groups do best. Don’t let them steal your voice when we absolutely need to speak up and cause good trouble.

Reading, creating, existing has historically been controversial and political for women and other minorities. Especially for people of color and the LGBTQIA+ communities. Honestly, battling AI is the least of our consequences when we look at the violence facing real people. This is why we can’t let it stop us from telling stories.

There are other ways to make a point about anti AI. Instead of being silent over the next few weeks, I’m going to keep working my craft. I’ll show you easy ways to stand up for your fellow humans. We need to see others doing the work, and hopefully that encourages more people to make some changes.

Want some free stickers for ACOTAR, Throne of Glass, or Crescent City? A long time ago, I ordered these stickers before I realized Amazon might have taken art from others.

We can do two things! In light of the newly released A Court of Splintered Harmony (ACOTAR Book 6), I will send you a random mix of stickers!! I literally have so many!

The second thing you can do is support an indie author (me!!) and sign up for my newsletter. If you complete the Google form, you can let me know which SJM series is your favorite.

I will send the next 10 newsletter subscribers a handful of random SJM stickers!!

Dayum. That’s a special guy! 😂

Soon I will have incredible character art from some amazingly talented human artists. It takes time for that kind of art!!

In the meantime, I’m trying really hard to use real human images or art, and I’ve been searching unsplash, pexels, and pixabay.

It feels unbelievable that I wrote a whole manuscript. I’ve been a reader so long that I don’t remember learning how. It has been a lifetime of learning about a world of perspectives.

Somewhere out there are readers who are looking for MY BOOK! Eek! Maybe you’re at a stage of life where you are tired of playing games with the world around us. Your friends have SAVED you when work wants to suck the life out of you. If you have children, they’re past skinned knees and fixing tears with bandaids. You’re juggling your own confusing emotions as you are guiding your older kids through complicated friendships and future planning.

Now I just have to get through edits, but I’m pumped!!! #bookstagram #fantasy #besties #foundfamily by @kimclevenger.author

The end:
I ended having another drink to bolster the confidence, but it was not enough to save me.

On the very lopsided, wet walk back to the hotel…

My other wedge broke too.

RIP to my most favorite wedges. I’ll never find anything else like them!! 😂😂😂 by @kimclevenger.author
