A little bit of New York, a little bit of Ronnie Scott’s, and a whole lot of jazz in the heart of Winchcombe! Last night we welcomed the incredible Kim Cypher and her band back to Isbourne Arts, almost exactly a year since their last sell-out performance. And once again, they played to a full house! Despite the driving rain, stormy weather and even the threat of a power cut, nothing was going to dampen the atmosphere inside. From Kim’s sensational saxophone playing and soulful vocals to some truly outstanding solos on guitar, double bass, piano and drums, we were treated to an absolute masterclass in live jazz. But what made the evening so special was the wonderful chemistry between the musicians, the easy banter between Kim and her husband behind the drums, and the warmth and familiarity they shared with the audience. It felt less like watching a performance and more like spending an evening with old friends. Exceptionally talented old friends, we should add! From the slower, soulful numbers to the infectious energy of Alligator Rock (a particular favourite of ours!), the audience loved every minute. Kim also spoke so warmly about Isbourne Arts and why she believes more venues like ours should exist. Coming from such an accomplished musician, and someone who calls this part of the world home, that meant an enormous amount. Another full house. Another unforgettable Saturday night. Thank you, Kim and the band, and to everyone who braved the weather to join us. Nights like these are exactly why we do what we do. Small town. Extraordinary live music. #IsbourneArts #KimCypher #LiveJazz #Winchcombe #CotswoldsEvents Kim Cypher, live jazz in Winchcombe, Isbourne Arts, jazz concerts in the Cotswolds, live music Gloucestershire, community-led arts venue, things to do in Winchcombe by @kimcyphersax

London jazz club energy. New York jazz club atmosphere. Right here in Winchcombe. 🎷 Back by popular demand, Cheltenham’s very own Kim Cypher returns to Isbourne Arts this Saturday 24th October, and tickets are selling FAST! Think Ronnie Scott’s, but without the trip to London. World-class live jazz, incredible musicianship and the kind of atmosphere that makes you forget you’re in a little Cotswold town. If you’ve seen Kim perform before, you’ll know exactly why we’re so excited to have her back. And if you haven’t? You’re in for a seriously good night out. The remaining tickets won’t be around for long, so don’t leave it too late! 🎟️ Book now via the link in our bio. #KimCypher #LiveJazz #IsbourneArts #Winchcombe #CotswoldsWhatsOn by @kimcyphersax
Original track 'Tomorrow's Song' recorded with the amazing Liane Carroll @beeezergal I wrote this piece as part of my #brightertomorrowforthearts project paying tribute to all who work in the arts. The lyrics express hope for a brighter tomorrow and longing for a new day to dawn. I feel those lyrics are even more meaningful today. The world could certainly do with some hope for a brighter tomorrow. With thanks to the fabulous @606club for allowing us to record.
