A RE-INTRODUCTION

Hey 👋 I’m Kim. Thought I’d give you a bit of background and what I’m about…

So my history is in music. I’ve been a musician for 15+ years. I’m still singing and playing 3-5 gigs a week. Hit me up if you wanna come see me live 😂.

In 2017 I started travelling, I realised I hadn’t really seen the world longer than a Ryanair flight and it was about time I explored. It was just me, a guitar and a gopro hero 5 (legendary camera btw) for 4 months in like 20+ locations. While playing music around the world was fun it was shooting content that inspired me the most.

Fast forward to my next world trip (I really didn’t save much money in my 20’s) I decide to upgrade to my first camera. I was officially addicted.

And then Covid hit. Along with many others I lost my income so I looked at my camera, googled “how do I become a photographer“ and started to re-think my career.

I got lucky, I was asked to model for a fashion shoot and during this met a team of photographers who invited me to their studio to see what it was all about. I fell in love. The atmosphere, the energy. I agreed to give the guys every penny I could spare if I could join the team. I’d help them on their shoots, they help me with mine and I would do nothing but practice and learn.

About half a year in I get hit up by a dance group for a whole day session. Ngl I had no clue what I was doing. But something changed. Dancers were reaching out wanting shoots. Like wtf?!

About year 3 I decided to focus all my energy on dancers. Getting to know performing artists, helping them on their journey was inspiring.

Ive been a photographer for 6 years now. Though I don’t dance Ive mastered the craft. I know the poses, see the lines, can correct form. See beauty and elegance in body shape and expression.

Ive always aimed to share kindness to build confidence and create safe, inclusive and comfortable conditions for performers. That’s so important to me.

About 1500 shoots in I’m so grateful to everyone that’s worked with me and trusted me.

I’m in such a happy place rn. My life with my girl, my dog and my job and I can’t wait to keep growing as a person!

Thanks for reading! ❤️ by @kimmorganwheeler

Amazing Pilates and Barre photoshoot with @lisadarnellmovement over at @theholisticwarehouse in Dalmarnock.

Absolutely love the colours in this studio, and with Lisa’s quality as an instructor and patience with me I was able to have so much camera creativity while we caught up! by @kimmorganwheeler

Starting to really enjoy shooting this side of movement

The best part of the @shaba_awards being over (sorry SHABAs) is finally sharing my entry images!!!

I didn't take home a win for my category Best Male Stylist but I find you NEVER feel sad or gutted as long as you loved your entry and did your best which I did.

Wouldn't have changed a single thing about these. Many thanks to both @kimmorganwheeler and @lvna.liv for all their work on this too.

What do you think? Would you have liked these to win? by @kimmorganwheeler
