You think it’s just a water festival or a water fight… but it’s not. 🙃

First, someone gently poured water over me and smiled. Songkran is New Year in Thailand 🇹🇭 and the water isn’t random.

It’s meant to wash away the past and start fresh. A few minutes later, I was fully in it 😅 Water guns, and more buckets actually 🪣💦, soaked 👖

And then someone lightly applied white powder onto my cheeks.
It’s a wish of good luck and protection, blessing for the year ahead.

Letting go of the past, stepping into something new... 🤍🙏🏽🇹🇭 in the year 2569 🌞

“Phuket is overcrowded.” Or maybe… you just didn’t choose the right places?

Actually, Phuket offers calm slow travelers spots like
@aladdinluxurycamp where you can experience slow life and a luxurious vibe. ⛺️✨️

👩🏽‍💻The tent was equipped with everything we needed to work, and to relax. 💯

Let’s break down travel lingo that sounds luxurious, but isn’t — so you don’t make the same mistakes I did, and know what to do instead! 🙈

✈️ 1. Priority boarding
Sounds: VIP vibes.
Reality: you’re just first to queue… and wait longer in a crowded aisle. 😏
💡 Instead: choose a seat near the front or back so you can be one of the first off — that’s the real time-saver.

💺 2. Comfort seat
Sounds: premium.
Reality: still economy… just slightly less crunched.
💡 Instead: Upgrade to business with miles / if you can't; go for the exit row. More legroom = more comfort.

👩🏽‍💻 3. Co-working/living communities
Sounds: productive paradise.
Reality: more see-and-be-seen than actual work — sometimes even vacation vibes with kids running around.
💡 Instead: get a short-term apartment with strong Wi-Fi — freedom, focus, and privacy.

🏡 4. Garden view room
Sounds: peaceful.
Reality: overlooks the dumpster or staff smoke break zone.
💡 Instead: request “sea view” — still vague, but a safer bet.

🏨 5. Hotel chain
Sounds: consistent and reliable.
Reality: can feel soulless and charge extra for every little thing.
💡 Instead: private hosts might surprise you with their hospitality (and personality).

🍸 6. All-inclusive
Sounds: freedom to indulge.
Reality: repetitive buffets, watered-down drinks, and 20-minute pancake queues.
💡 Instead: explore local spots — more value, more flavor.

👙 7. Direct pool access
Sounds: private, tropical, dreamy.
Reality: your room has less privacy — every kid with floaties swims past your patio.
💡 Instead: book a private pool villa. In the low season, it’s more affordable than you think.

Slow or long-term travel isn’t about being cheap or splurging, but rather about balance and traveling smarter.
Knowing what actually adds comfort is the real flex. 😎

Which one got you before? 👀💬👇

Sometimes the life we want is hiding in our “one day” tab. The ideas we parked for “later” are usually the ones we're meant to build now.

We’re allowed to outgrow places, jobs, and versions of ourselves.
Just because something once fit perfectly doesn’t mean it is forever.

New country? New job? New rhythm? You don’t owe your past self a lifetime subscription. Yet, a “dream life” can look very messy behind Instagram posts, and reaching where you want to be isn't based on luck and surely isn't as easy as it may appear.

When experiencing development or growth, likely you will experience confusion too. You can choose to see it as a sign things are actually changing. If everything feels clear or comfortable, you’re probably still in the same spot. Growing pains are real and you will feel them when stepping out of your comfort zone.

You can love stability and still choose to start over somewhere no one can even pronounce. Because to be fair the ‘weird’ dream is often the honest one.

The courage to chase your dreams can start with small decisions. Sending the message. Saying no. Booking a trip #FIBI Even when everyone else thinks you're nuts.

Not being understood is only a minor side effect. I’d rather be misunderstood while living my own dream, than praised for playing a role I’ve outgrown.

My dream life should be possible on an ordinary Tuesday. 🥰

And so should yours.

Xoxo Kim

Altijd “te druk” om te lezen of moeite met lezen om welke reden dan ook? 📚 Same.

No excuses. Geen honderden bladzijdes, maar wel inzichten die blijven hangen.

Van business & mindset tot persoonlijke groei of spiritualiteit: kies wat past bij jouw moment.

Phuket Old Town is a true coffee lover’s paradise 🫶🏼

For a quick caffeine fix full of flavours, stories, and conversations worth slowing down for.

Here are 5 coffee spots to turn your stroll through Old Town into a coffee lover's experience ⬇️

☕ Baan 125 Stay / Hangout
Creative drinks, cozy vibes. Order the Tokyo Mistake and save room for lemon cake. They offer a spacious Chino Portuguese apartment upstairs to enjoy their coffee every morning.

☕ Buppay Café
Beans ground by hand. The best iced Americano in town. 😊 Slow coffee and a vintage vibe that made my day.

☕ Sutra Café & Bistro
Yes, I ordered the caramel latte. Yes, it was worth every calorie. It's also a guest house.

☕ Dou Brew
Try their signature coffee — or walk in for a perfectly balanced cappuccino.

☕ ISARA Café & hotel
Not for average coffee drinkers. Their Cofftails are perfect if you’re feeling adventurous.

Save this for your next Old Town wandering session.

My fave? ALL OF THEM! by @kimmy.digital.nomad

A few lessons I brought back “home” from the island into “normal” life. 🌊

➡️ SWIPE...

Except… life is anything but “normal” when you actually choose to live your dream.

Not even sure where home is at this point, but I don’t care, I kinda love it like this.

Swipe through and tell me:
Which lesson matches your vibe today? ⬇️ by @kimmy.digital.nomad

I am legally blind, but moreover I'm incredibly grateful. ☺️

I’ve never really talked about this here, but I live with a visual impairment.
I don’t see "the full picture", I actually only see about 20%.

(And no glasses don't help and there is no solution).

Of course that means I can't do everything, I'm at a perfect hotspot to ride a motorbike and play golf, but that's just not going to happen. 🤷🏽‍♀️

But instead of focusing on what I can’t see, I’ve learned to appreciate what I can see, what I can do, and what I get to experience. So I enjoy the sunsets, the weather, the food, and the environment.

Grateful to be here, to be me, and to experience life in my own way.
To me 'seeing everything' isn’t what matters most, my unique perspective is. It helps me to create, and connect which is what I love more than anything.

What I don't see, I can feel, hear, smell, touch, and that is more than I could wish for.

✨Grateful for every day. 🙏🏼❤️
