God assigned a purpose over my life long before I could even understand it for myself. Earlier this year, I told God I wanted to be in the most powerful rooms and go to United Nations in New York. But God said, “watch what I can do.” Looking back, the little girl in me would’ve never imagined that one day she’d be at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland giving an intervention. But that’s the beauty of partnering with God, there are places, callings, and heights only He can take you.

There are so many things I’m passionate about, and I’m beyond grateful to @oedd.official for inviting me as a Youth Delegate. Thank you for seeing my work, believing in my voice, and recognizing the change I’m striving to make. Your continued support and love is appreciated and I don’t take this responsibility lightly.

This is bigger than a moment for me it’s the continuation of the work, the responsibility, and the impact I intend to leave on this world. 🤍 by @kimoralee__

When God places a dream in your heart, He also provides the strength to achieve it. Keep moving forward with purpose.

We are incredibly proud to share that back in September, our founder was awarded the Lincoln M. Alexander Award for exemplary leadership in eliminating racial discrimination.

This prestigious recognition is a powerful testament to their lifelong passion for the law and their unwavering commitment to supporting, uplifting, and advocating for racialized individuals in our community. Under their visionary leadership, our organization continues to push forward in the fight for true equity and systemic change.

Ephesians 2:10 reminds us: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Remembering that God is intentional and it was a purpose prepared for me long before I ever stepped into it. Honored to receive the Lincoln Alexander Award for 2026🤍 by @kimoralee__

Incredibly honoured to share that I have been awarded the Lincoln M. Alexander Award as the 2026 recipient. After I received the award I was told that the vote was unanimous 🤍 and there was no doubt that it wasn’t me.

Named after the late Honourable Lincoln M. Alexander, this award recognizes one young person each year dedicated to eliminating racial discrimination. Law is my absolute passion, and my mission has always been to use it as a tool to support, uplift, and advocate for racialized individuals in our community.

Carrying forward the legacy of Canada’s first Black Lieutenant Governor who was himself a trailblazing lawyer is a profound privilege. This recognition only strengthens my commitment to breaking down systemic barriers and fighting for true equity.

Looking back at the path it took to get here, I never could have imagined I’d become the woman I am today. The road hasn’t been easy, and the obstacles along the way were heavy but I am walking boldly in my calling, holding God’s hand trusting His perfect direction.

Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us: “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” — Proverbs 27:17 ✝️

We gathered to share, listen, and grow together in faith and wisdom. There is so much power in a community of women lifting each other up and pushing one another to fulfill our purpose.

Thank you to @sandyanin for bringing us together and hosting.

Thrilled to share that I am returning as a mentor for my second year with Elevate Youth Toronto!

Giving back through mentorship has been incredibly rewarding, and I couldn’t be more excited to spend the next few months with my mentee.

This year, I have the absolute privilege of being paired with an ambitious mentee who wants to study Criminology, the exact program I graduated from and pursue a future career in law! ⚖️🎓

There is nothing quite like guiding someone down a path you have already walked. I can’t wait to share my knowledge, industry insights, and lessons learned to help her navigate her academic and legal journey.

Huge thank you to Elevate Youth Toronto for creating these vital connections and empowering the next generation of leaders.

To say I am overwhelmed with gratitude would be an understatement. Earlier this month, I was honored to receive the Outstanding Mentor Award at the 2026 Impact Gala. ✨

This actually marks my second mentorship award this year, and I am truly humbled. Pouring into others, sharing knowledge, and helping young girls unlock their potential is my absolute passion but to have that work recognized twice in one year is a beautiful reminder that our communities thrive when we invest in each other.

A huge thank you to the Impact Gala organizers, @fbcfcn and to TD – Mississauga District for sponsoring this award and celebrating community leadership. To my mentees, peers, my team at @_youthunlocked_ and everyone who supports this journey: thank you. We keep lifting as we climb!

Empowered women empower other women. This win is for every woman making space for others to succeed. ✨ by @kimoralee__

Finding our purpose in life is so important, and I am incredibly grateful to steward YouthUnlocked and have the ability to mentor so many young girls. There was a time when I didn’t think I’d be where I am today, let alone have the impact I do.

To be top 5 out of 1,000 nominations across Canada is an honor and to ultimately take home the Mentorship Award left me feeling so rich in spirit. I stand here as the first woman and the first Black woman to win this award. In the legal field, I have often been the only black woman and sometimes the only black person. Because of this, I am deeply proud to inspire young girls to take up space in law, whether they choose to become paralegals or lawyers.

My goal is to show young Black girls, and all young women, what is possible. It’s also to show them that success doesn’t stop at being a lawyer; there are so many paths available if that route isn’t for them. So often, we become who the world tells us to be, rather than who God called us to be. I strive to teach young people your origins are just the prologue, not the whole story. The household you were raised in and the circumstances you inherited do not hold the pen to your future. A difficult beginning does not mean a limited destination. You are not a product of your past you are the architect of what comes next.

Congratulations to the women I made top 5 with. A heartfelt thank you to Michelle, the @thelotushopefoundation team, and my amazing family, friends, and mentees. Thank you for continuing to encourage me when I feel like I’m not doing enough, and for never failing to remind me of the impact I have on your lives. I promise to keep showing up for you in every capacity, pouring into you as I continue pouring into God. by @kimoralee__
