After 5 full term pregnancies, my diastasis recti had never completely healed, even though my youngest is 5 now.
So this year, I developed pain around my shoulder blade, partially due to a week core according to my physio.
It has been an ongoing journey but when excercising, I use the affirmation "I can do anything for 1 minute"
I feel this may also be useful for breastfeeding challenges ❤️🫂.

🎃 3 Super Scary Breastfeeding Myths – Busted! 👻

Breastfeeding advice can sometimes be frightening, especially when you're already navigating the challenges of feeding a baby. But how much truth is there behind some of these common worries?

This Halloween, we're busting three breastfeeding myths with the help of three lactation experts ⬇️

👻 MYTH 1: Cluster feeding means your baby isn't getting enough milk.

💬 “Babies may want to feed very frequently at certain times of the day, and this doesn’t automatically mean they’re not getting enough milk.”

— @hannahcroftibclc

🦷 MYTH 2: You have to stop breastfeeding when your baby gets teeth.

💬 “Not true! Babies and toddlers can continue breastfeeding happily for months or even years after their teeth erupt.”

— Regina Kincaid, IBCLC @kindestmilk

🤧 MYTH 3: You should stop breastfeeding when you're ill.

💬 “For many common illnesses, such as colds and flu, continuing to breastfeed is usually possible and can help your baby receive antibodies through your milk.”

— Registered Midwife Louise Brandman @breastfeeding_educator_hub

The takeaway? Don't let scary stories and common misconceptions leave you feeling worried. Every breastfeeding journey is different, and reliable information and the right support can make all the difference.

Did you know that every breast has a different milk storage capacity? 💡

Milk storage capacity refers to how much milk your breasts can store between feeds. It varies from person to person and is not the same as breast size!

✨ A larger storage capacity may allow a baby to take larger feeds less frequently, while a smaller storage capacity may mean a baby needs to feed more often.

Both can support a full, healthy milk supply! ❤️

Remember, how often your baby feeds, how much milk they take at each feed, and how much milk you produce are influenced by several factors.

Small or large breasts, frequent or less frequent feeds — what matters is whether your baby is getting enough milk overall.

Thinking about buying a breast pump? 🍼

Before choosing a pump, think about why you need it — because the right pump can be very different depending on your goal.

🤱 BUILDING your milk supply
If you’re establishing supply, relactating or exclusively pumping, you’ll want a pump that can support frequent and effective milk removal. A strong hospital grade double electric pump is often the most practical choice.

📈 BOOSTING your milk supply
If you’re breastfeeding but want to increase supply, consider a pump that is comfortable, efficient and easy to use regularly. You may only need to pump once or twice a day rather than investing in a hospital-grade pump.

🌿 MAINTAINING your milk supply
If you mainly breastfeed and just need to express occasionally, a simple portable, wearable or even hand pump may be all you need — particularly for the occasional bottle or being away from your baby.

And remember: more expensive doesn’t always mean better.
The most important things are whether the pump suits your purpose, fits you well, is comfortable and allows you to remove milk effectively.

💬 Not sure which type of pump is right for you? An IBCLC can help you choose based on your individual feeding goals.
