Sing about me, I’m You can’t come with me where I’m going, The love I have left for you will rest here in these poems. Line after line, the less you cross my mind. The less I feel the urge to call, my words hold this grief so what’s the point of a phone — call back to the times where I said I loved you ? I said I loved you a million times, centennial after centennial we met in different lives..as different things..as different pairs..what more could I want? Greed becomes vain if we take it there. The love I feel for you remains the same, it’s not stagnant it’s changed, I’ve changed, what change do you have left in you? I’ve run out of clothes dressing up to meet you there at the place we said we’d own, long gone are the dreams of a build-a-bear & a promise ring I begged for, truth is I just wanted a trinket reminding me that at one point I was cared for — you cared. We existed. We eclipsed even if only for a minute, well it was years but who’s counting? Saying I love you is just my way of asking will you sing about me. by @kirsten.sta44
I can’t do the heavy lifting of politics such as [enter current activist]. It’s not that I lack the prudential skills — my medium is still malleable enough to be shaped. In a sea of sharpened iron wielding the inscription of activist, I feel my form takes a different silhouette. The last week has been so spiritually lifting & cozy for my mind. Amidst the times, I still get to be a combination of the future & the past of my people in this present body. by @kirsten.sta44
