POSTS STORIES REELS

Sikka 2024 is on until March 3 and I can’t say enough good things about all talent, beauty, and culture on display! I have too many favorites to list but keep watching my stories for glimpses. I am so grateful to @dubaiculture @sikkaplatform for the opportunity and @roomfivecreativefacility @hamda.alfalasi and Noora for all their help and support. My slideshow instillation “Traceless” explores space, time, and memories through a collection of donated images from so many special people in my life and I thank all of you for helping. Come explore the world without leaving Dubai by seeing and experiencing art! Everything I love about the UAE can be felt on the creek this week. You can find me and my work in house 314, next to @farmers.coffee by @kirstensandsdecker

A little mix of some @rakfinearts exhibit

Selections from my latest series of photographs “Wanderlust” are on display @rakfinearts in collaboration with @usainuae Come visit them in bayt 7 until March 31 and become part of the exhibition by posing with instillation projections from photo archives spanning the last fifty years. I’m honored to be representing the USA and the UAE with this artistic journey alongside the talented @selmacatovichughes by @kirstensandsdecker

Tail end of summer blurs. by @kirstensandsdecker

If you find yourself in Venice this month, there is a lot to see and experience during the Bienniale and Film Festival. I’m honored to be featured for the second time @art_icon.official as part of their Static Cinema exhibition. It means the world to me, that they’ve seen my images and decided they fit in their theme. My lens based artworks are moments frozen in time and I love when others can feel the memories, too! Thank you to my incredible friend and fellow artist, @ruth.badley for the photos! by @kirstensandsdecker

I’m honored to have my photograph, Green Grass of Home, featured @art_icon.official as part of the Static Cinema Exhibit in Venice this month. All of the art work there is amazing, and it runs through September 24. Thank you @d.tkachenko.studio for selecting my work again this year. Exhibition is a validation that artists need and work so hard to make happen. When someone appreciates my work, I feel seen, and real. As artists, we most often have to forge on, feeding our own soul only, and we always will. by @kirstensandsdecker

Going through old projects, some stories never felt finished, or ever captured what I was seeking, but over time, other stories write themselves. by @kirstensandsdecker
