Thanks @lululemonausnz, @jacksaundersau & @mitchhrowee_ for hosting a phenomenal pre @goldcoastmarathon event 🫶🏼

We were kitted out in @lululemon, ran Broadbeach, ate @fishbowl_fuel @pillarperformance & were spoilt with goodies 🥰 We heard from experts about fuelling, race day psychology, strategy & recovery, which I found invaluable.

So grateful to have guidance, support & community on this journey! ❤️

I RAN A MARATHON!!! 💞🥇💅🏃‍♀️‍➡️🎀👊

This time last year I made my running debut in the @goldcoastmarathon 5km race because that was all I could run. Whilst spectating the marathon, I saw people passing out, throwing up, limping & getting wheeled out by medics, I said I wouldn’t do a marathon & thats exactly what I did, only one year on 😅

Being my first marathon, it was never about the time but STOKED with 4 hours & 7 minutes 😅🫶🏼 my biggest take from this race - I think it may be time to get a Garmin... My Apple Watch died BEFORE I finished the race, so according to Strava I didn’t do a marathon & it didn’t record my data properly 😭 my watch was also showing me at a slightly faster pace than what I was going, so I actually thought I was on track for a sub 4 hour… regardless of all that, I’m so happy with this race!!!

I didn’t think I was even going to make it to the start line when 2 days out I was getting nerve pain that was making it hard to walk (let alone, run). I had to cut my training block a month short when I strained my calf & to top it off, I had a suspected concussion a few weeks ago 😅

Not being able to complete a training block & leaving it up to game day can definitely play on your mind. But I’m so grateful my consistency whilst managing so many other roles & responsibilities, paid off. It wasn’t only my body doing what I trained it to do, it was my mind. There was not a second in that race that stopping was an option, despite it ALSO being that time of the month 🙃

BIG LOVE for the teams that helped get me here ❤️‍🔥
