Spent the day surrounded by community, good energy, and the gworlz.

Brought out a pair of🇵🇷 Nike Air Rifts from the early 2000s, one of those pairs that if I don’t post is excluded from the timeline, but the real heads know, Big OG talk.💪🫡

What means the most, though, is creating space for women to gather, connect, laugh, and build community right here in Bushwick in partnership with @heavyprint . That’s the real flex. 🙏

The sneakers brought us together, but the community is why we keep showing up.

We wanted to celebrate the release of the Women’s AJ1 Zoom CMFT 2 “You’re Welcome” in true New York fashion, on the block. Our launch mixer paid homage to summertime in the big apple! Holidays are what qualifies sneakers to be a culture. Every October for the past 10 years it just be @bgkicks and I literally posting the Reebok we love. This year we are feeling festive and want to set the month off posting 31 pairs for 31 days of #boktober

Themed around 6 fashion forward cities. Designed with distinct local elements reflecting the spirit of New York women. Released in 2008 at an event with over 100 celebrities.

Highlight of my night, yapping with @lilkimthequeenbee about Reebok Freestyles, her natural hair and how she inspired a pair of earrings I have and I ended up going to the same jeweler to make them! An icon, who put that shvt tf on! She put on for us Brooklyn women and we will forever be grateful for the trends she set off and the space she took up. Big Brooklyn all day 🫡

We boomed the industry, shook shvt up, created safe spaces, launched careers for many women, had a blast, made history and splashed on em heavy! Twinning w/ my girl @ogyayaa

My mother once asked me “ Why are you so humble on Instagram?”

I responded “ because I never wanted to demonstrate that quantity is what makes me an exceptional sneaker head, the quality of my collection is more important “

She said “boring 💤 and speak your truths” 😂🤌🏽

So here we go: Reebok Freestyle Hi’s were my first sneaker love. 💕 They make my heart flutter. They are a love language. They remind me of all the women I love. I’ve copped since 1990 and never stopped collecting them, I have 300+ pairs of this one model.

They are a foundational pillar of American women’s sneaker culture, deeply woven in the dna that defines our collections.

She would tell me this is 💤💤 too. 🤣

Welcome to ARCHIVIN’ W/ JIXIE — a digital museum where sneakers are preserved through design, history, cultural context, and lived experience.

Before celebrity sneaker collaborations became an industry formula, there were risks. Firsts. Deals that shifted culture and changed the business of footwear.

I’m putting the entire 7-minute exhibit right here on Instagram because preservation shouldn’t only exist in fragments, clips, or 60-second recaps.

Jay Coleman, music marketing pioneer didn’t just market culture. He was the visionary who helped move it.

Years before I’d work alongside his genius bringing musical artists into hospitals for sick children, Jay helped make sneaker history by connecting Michael Jackson’s lawyer to L.A. Gear.

And years later, I got to hear the story directly from him.

That’s the beauty of lived experience. Sometimes you don’t realize you’re standing inside the history you’ll one day archive. Full circle.

I’m humbled by the respect I’ve received from some of the most amazing sneaker collectors to ever walk this earth.

I’ve always been passionate, and if you know me in person, you KNOW the vibe 😂, but it’s frustrated some of my peers that I never really took up space in content creation, despite having arguably one of the strongest collections out here and even stronger vintage collection.

But time. Perspective. Full circles.

Before my collection turns to dust, I want to give these pieces somewhere to live forever.

So I present to you…

Timeless pieces, documented the way I believe they deserve to be.
