Figures in the mist, final piece

6x6 acrylics on canvas

“As I sit here
In the oblivion of my thoughts

A gentle breeze
Whispers through the leaves
A soft embrace

And suddenly
I am present”

“The candles three”

16x12 acrylics on canvas board.

Third set of monochromatic candles in this series that I did recently. They have been taking on a life of their own as I paint them, which has been super interesting for an artist who loves to have control of the subject matter.

The older I get, the more I try to loosen up on certain things. It’s progress

“Purple Candles”

12x9 acrylics on canvas board.

The next iteration of my fascination.
I thought it would be fun to do monochromatic versions of these candles and the airy form around them.

My fascination with painting candles struck again a couple months ago. This time, I accidentally made a mark near the flame which lead me into imaging what the airflow around the candle itself might look like.

Mistakes can make for interesting new pathways.

This painting is 6x6 acrylics on canvas.

The waiting girl

12 x 12

Oils on masonite

As artists I think we all try to capture a moment that means something important. I think we try to reason why we are here and especially why we are put through the agony of being alive. I think, I hope it’s to point out the good moments that make us feel loved and that we are part of something amazing, that being human is about the experience of it all. The good, the bad, everything in between is all part of who we are and while we have moments that make us question the universe as to why we are made to suffer, it is to teach us something greater about ourselves. At least I hope.

Finally posting this piece!

I was honored by one of my friends to do a commissioned portrait of his mom, it took me quite a while as I wanted to do my best job for him and his mother of course. It was a very interesting piece to do as I have mostly done pet portraiture and humans are vastly different in tones and color. I consider it a success!

It is 20x16 oils on canvas.

I would love to hear people’s thoughts on this and if I should pursue further people portraits. Let me know what you think and I am always open for commission work!

Thank you for your time and have a wonderful day! 🌞

New whale for “Whales in the park” in Chatham!

Funny story about this is I have the idea for this particular whale for 2 years. I had finished the whale for 2023 and a week later came up with this idea. I missed out on the 2024 whale last year so I was determined to get in this year!

Stop by Kate Gould Park in downtown Chatham to check out all the amazing whales that are up! It’s quite a sensational summer with amazing sharks and whales.

More art to come for my page as I have been on a hiatus from social media for a few months. Thank you for your time and enjoy your day!

Chatham Lighthouse

16x20 oils in canvas. 2017

I grew up in Chatham and one of the icons there is the Chatham Lighthouse. I spent many a night as a teenager taking late night walks that always ended up there so I could watch the light silently turn and hear the faint sound of the surf in the distance. It’s a soul enriching experience.

I took this photo years ago and turned it into this painting. It will forever be part of who I am.

This painting currently resides in New Hampshire.

I did this painting in 2023 for Pride Month, but I think it is important to share it now, again!

Bit of a piece I am currently working on. It’s slow going, but persistence is key! I have learned with this piece that I have tended to jump around the canvas working on the piece as with previous pieces. I know now that I should focus on one area and the rest will follow. Always learning!
