Hair care overwhelm isn’t random — it’s the result of fragmented advice, pressure to consume, and no clear place to practise. That belief shapes how I work. I don’t teach hair care as a list of things to copy. I focus on helping people build clarity, decision-making, and confidence. Swipe left for: • a bit about me • how I think about hair care overwhelm • the principles that guide my work • the structure I use to support people • and the pathways available for deeper support It reflects how and why I support people — not a lesson in itself...and when someone is ready for guidance, structure, and practice with support, that’s where the Healthy Hair Care Club comes in. A home for learning, practising, and building confidence — without pressure. What do you relate to most? The hair philosophy… or the fact I’m a dog mum🐶🐾? by @klerissamc

What's actually supposed to happen in a hair consultation? (Not what most of us have experienced.) A real consultation isn't a glance at your hair before reaching for a product. It's diagnosis before recommendation — your history, your fibre condition, your home practice, and a plan that actually closes the appointment. That's the standard. Not a high bar. The minimum a professional owes you before a single product touches your hair. Once you overstand what a real consultation covers, you'll know exactly what to ask for. Save this for your next appointment — you'll walk in knowing exactly what to expect. by @klerissamc
Lloyd performed Sunday night. Over 20+ years in he sounded identical to his first album. That level of consistency doesn't happen by accident (and it's exactly what's missing from most hair care routines!!) My friend called me weeks ago — reserved the date, sorted the tickets, the whole thing. And he was INCREDIBLE. Sounds exactly the same as he did 20 years ago. Every note. Every run. The room was completely in it. We even got to speak to him after the show of course😜. We reminisced of the time we met at Lennox Mall Atlanta Georgia years back when we travelled for my birthday. He was warm, gracious — proper lovely. But the whole journey home I kept turning one thing over... How does someone hold that quality for two decades? The voice doesn't just stay like that. The performance doesn't just hold like that. There is a practice underneath what we saw that we will never see. Repetition. Discipline. And — I imagine — a very clear understanding of what his instrument needs to stay in that condition. Lloyd is still performing at the same level because he invested in understanding his craft properly from the beginning. That investment compounds. It doesn't expire. by @klerissamc
Most people don’t struggle with hair care because they don’t try. They struggle because they were never given a method. The Practice of Care™ is the framework I use to help people move from guessing to calm, confident, sustainable care — without pressure or product overload. It’s not about doing more. It’s about understanding first, then choosing the right tools to support that. Inside the Healthy Hair Care Club, this method becomes something you practise, not just learn. If this made you pause and think, explore the Healthy Hair Care Club when you’re ready. Reply EXPLORE and I’ll share complimentary access to the Club. by @klerissamc
Most people don’t need more hair advice. They need a framework. This is the 3-phase method I use to help people move from guessing to calm, confident care: Customisation → Core Care → Culture & Community. This is exactly what I help people with inside the private Healthy Hair Care Club. The cost of postponing proper hair care isn’t always visible. It’s not just dryness. Or inconsistency. Or another routine that didn’t stick. It’s the quiet decision to wait. “I’ll wear it out once it grows.” “I’ll feel confident when it behaves.” “I’ll fix it properly later.” But confidence doesn’t arrive after perfection. It grows alongside understanding. Afro and curly hair isn’t something to delay your life for. It’s something to learn, care for, and show up with — now. Inside the Healthy Hair Care Club, we build confidence through literacy and practice — not pressure. If this made you pause and think, explore the Healthy Hair Care Club when you’re ready. Dry hair isn’t always a sign that you need more moisture. Often, it’s a sign that moisture isn’t being held effectively. Afro and curly hair functions best in a slightly acidic environment. Water alone doesn’t create that balance — so when hair is repeatedly re-wetted without proper conditioning (or moisturing) hydration doesn’t last the way it should. This isn’t about avoiding water. It’s about understanding how hair responds — and supporting it properly. Inside the Healthy Hair Care Club, I teach hair literacy first, then how to choose and use the right tools with intention and consistency. If this makes you pause and think, explore the Healthy Hair Care Club when you’re ready. Reply EXPLORE and I’ll share complimentary access to the Club. by @klerissamc
If hair care still feels harder than it should, it’s not because you’re doing it wrong. It’s because most advice is given without context — and without space to practise calmly. Inside the Healthy Hair Care Club, we build care that fits your hair and your life. This is exactly what I help people with inside the private Healthy Hair Care Club. If hair care feels heavy, confusing, or exhausting — it’s not because you’re failing. It’s because you were never given structure. Inside the Healthy Hair Care Club, we hold the structure so you can practise with confidence, not pressure. From confusion → calm, confident care. One clear step at a time. by @klerissamc
