PLAYLISTS (link in bio): we spend quite some time working on our playlists in the last weeks, most notably on diversifying the plattforms they are available on, by adding deezer, anghami, youtube music and tidal (qobuz is coming very soon) to the main plattforms. we also added 3 new new playlists that our colleague @fatimasab.zahra curated (a whole discography one, a (s)low tempo selection and one dedicated to instrumental grooves) and our friend @machi7k did a guest curation. last but not least we updated the main „essentials“ playlist. the track featured in the video is „longa“ by al massrieen. enjoy!

Houston, a rapper already under federal indictment in connection to a shooting at an Upper Kirby restaurant is now facing state charges related to the barrage of gunfire that injured another rapper.
Jeremy Christopher Ford, a 36-year-old rapper from Michigan also known as Allstar JR, is now charged with aggravated assault causing a traumatic brain or spine injury, according to Harris County court records.
Ford is accused of shooting Ben Fields, also known as rapper NBA Ben10, during a fight at Confessions restaurant in the Upper Kirby neighborhood in early April.
According to federal court records, surveillance video showed Ford in a fight inside the restaurant possibly involving a necklace and watch. A gun fell to the floor, investigators said, which Ford allegedly picked up and began firing, hitting three people. Houston police investigators said after initial shots appeared to hit Fields, Ford allegedly continued firing the gun before he went over to Fields and fired three more rounds at him from close range. The gun then appeared to run out of bullets, according to investigators, but Ford tried to fire it again at Fields’ head. After it didn’t fire, police said Ford pistol whipped Fields and spit on his face, according to records.
Investigators have now revealed Fields suffered a spine injury as a result of the shooting and he doesn’t have sensation from the waist down, according to records. “Based on the extent of the injuries, the prognosis for Complainant Fields is that he will have irreversible paralysis of his lower extremities,” investigators wrote in state court records.

It’s always nourishing for the soul to come back home to Hawaii with the family and bring everyone back to @polynesianculturalctr here in Oahu.

All three of my daughters have that fierce warrior spirit in their blood, and as a proud Samoan/Black man and father it’s so cool to see it and so proud to FEEL IT. And that’s all that matters most - whats the thing you FEEL deep in your bones.

And every time I’m addressed by my High Chief Title name of SEULI, I feel the deep cultural pride, respect and responsibility - I have and always will, proudly carry the name and cultures with me around the world.

It’s also the reminder that though I’ve been lucky enough to accomplish a few things in this life, there’s always more to learn and absorb - about myself, my cultures, other cultures… the spiritual journey is always an open road if you’re willing to walk it.
