When we sing together, we breathe together. I love the workshop playshop space more and more as this musical pilgrimage of life unfolds. Resuscitating the tribal spirit of humanity as we open into our voices and remember the river that we are. This session at @colibrispirit.festival finished with a spontaneous song written together in the moment. These songs are always incredible and I’ll be sharing more of them soon. @koda.sounds walked away from being a professional DJ and playing in front of thousands of people to find meaning and purpose again, and he found it in the most unlikely of places. Disenfranchised by the heavy use of drugs and alcohol in the music scene, he went on the road to work out what was next. At a house party, he was introduced to Cacao for the first time, and it was an experience that changed his life. Spurred on by a desire to help people connect to themselves and each other again, Dan followed his heart to Peru, where travelled hours into the Amazon Rainforest, even being stopped at gunpoint, to eventually meet the Ashaninka Tribe. There, he built trust and relationships with the over 350 families that were producing cacao, and eventually made an agreement to bring their cacao to the world. That was the beginning of @wearesacred and it continues on today as a very special brand and product that has been shared with thousands of people around the world. The beacon has been lit. 💙🔥✨ People are starting to gather. The lighthouse has always been a powerful symbol. It stands in the darkness, shining its light so that others can find their way. It doesn’t force anyone to come. It simply shines, offering hope, guidance and the reminder that no matter how rough the journey becomes, there is always a way home. For too long we have been separated. Building our own projects. Following our own dreams. But now the time has come to weave those dreams together and co-create a new reality. There is an old saying that one candle can light a thousand others without ever diminishing its own flame. So too is the spirit of humanity. When one person has the courage to shine their light, they give others permission to do the same. We don’t become less by sharing our light. Together, we become brighter. That is what Luminaries is. A gathering of people who believe in a brighter future. A place where artists, musicians, entrepreneurs, scientists, healers and changemakers come together to inspire one another and remember that we are always stronger together than we are alone. After years of planning, visioning, and paperwork… THE SACRED FOUNDATION is now approved in EU! 🌿 Created to support the Indigenous communities who protect the rainforest and grow the Sacred Cacao we all know and love, the Sacred Foundation allows us to create greater impact, deeper transparency, stronger support systems, and a greater ability to share knowledge and stories directly from the source 🤎 Beyond our cacao purchases, we will now be able to give and receive donations that directly support Indigenous communities working tirelessly to protect their lands from deforestation, illegal mining, narcotics trade and growing external pressures on the Amazon. Through our Foundation, we hope to open a larger global conversation around rainforest protection, Indigenous wisdom, cultural preservation, healthcare, education, infrastructure, and future community-led projects. As a kid I always enjoyed my own company… in fact, I preferred it. An introvert by nature (I know, most wouldn’t believe it), I gain energy in my quiet moments. But lately I’ve noticed I can also gain energy when I am around the right people. The change makers, the doers, the dreamers, the believers. I love being around people who dream big and take action in face of their fears. This is what excites me. This is what gives me energy. But I’ve also noticed the opposite is also true. When I am around the wrong spaces or people I feel drained and heavy. Not that they are bad people or not worthy of my love, it just may not be the right space or time for me to give them so much of my energy. I’ve come to realise that energy can be multiplied or subtracted depending on who you are giving it to. If you ever feel drained or exhausted from giving out too much energy, take a moment to give it back to yourself. Read a book, have a cup of cacao, play some music, listen to your thoughts, spend time in nature… Enjoy those moments. Those are sacred.
