Official Statement Regarding the Controversial MMA BUSHIDO Title Fight Decision. The MMA BUSHIDO championship fight between Ragners Džigurs and Vitold Jagėlo, held on October 17 at the KOK 129 World Series event in Riga, sparked strong emotions both inside the arena and across social media. To address the concerns raised and ensure transparency, we would like to provide a detailed explanation. 1. Weight Category. The championship fight was scheduled in the -77 kg weight category (Welterweight). However, during the official weigh-in, Ragners Džigurs failed to make the required weight. Nevertheless, following an agreement between both fighters, the bout was allowed to proceed. 2. Judges’ Decision. The fight was evaluated by four judges, whose decisions were evenly divided. Two judges scored the fight in favor of Ragners Džigurs, while the other two scored it in favor of Vitold Jagėlo, resulting in a 2–2 split in the judges’ votes. Neither fighter received a majority of the judges’ votes. This should not be confused with a 2–2 score in rounds or an official round-by-round points total. 3. Additional Fight Analysis. To address any remaining doubts and provide an independent assessment, the fight was reviewed today by independent MMA experts. Their round-by-round scoring was as follows: Round 1: 10–9 in favor of Ragners Džigurs. Round 2: 10–10, a draw. Round 3: 10–9 in favor of Vitold Jagėlo. Under MMA Bushido judging criteria, the evaluation of a fight primarily focuses on effective striking and grappling, including takedowns, while fight control is considered according to its significance within the official scoring criteria. The MMA BUSHIDO Welterweight Championship title stays vacant. 📺 Fight Replay on Fightplus.eu by @kok_latvija
