Being a sommelier is only part of the job.

When you know Korčula, its wines, its winemakers, its restaurants and the people behind them, you become part tour guide, part concierge, part travel advisor, part logistics coordinator… and occasionally part photographer, weather forecaster and problem solver.

Gaby doesn’t just know what’s in your glass. She knows where to take you, who you should meet, what you should eat with it, and what else you shouldn’t leave the island without experiencing. by @korculawinetours

We respect grapes in all stages of their journey, but we prefer fermented, bottled, and poured somewhere on Korčula.

It’s called supporting local agriculture. 🍷🤷‍♀️ by @korculawinetours

Unfortunately the voices are making some excellent points.

And they’re saying something about a wine tasting on Korčula.

We should probably hear them out.

A little out-of-office research. Bordeaux edition. 🍷

We swapped the vineyards of Korčula for the châteaux of Bordeaux, joining our winemaker friends from @tasovac_winery for a few days of very important market research. Tough assignment, we know.

Between exploring the legendary wine regions of Médoc and Saint-Émilion, wandering the streets of Bordeaux, and putting in some serious hours at the tasting table, we came away with a few things worth sharing.

1. The scale of it all.

Coming from Korčula, where small, family-run wineries are such an important part of our wine culture, Bordeaux is quite the contrast. Grand estates, sprawling vineyards, centuries-old châteaux, and a wine industry with an extraordinary global reputation.

1. Blending is an art form.

On Korčula, we’re especially proud of our indigenous varieties, like Pošip and Grk, which have such distinct personalities of their own. Bordeaux offers a different perspective, where varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc are often blended to create balance, complexity, and structure.

3. Terroir really does change everything.

One of the most interesting things about travelling between wine regions is seeing how much geography influences what’s in your glass. Bordeaux’s Atlantic-influenced climate, soils, and growing conditions are worlds away from Korčula’s Mediterranean sunshine, limestone landscapes, and salty sea air. Even within Bordeaux, the gravelly soils of Médoc and the limestone-rich areas of Saint-Émilion help tell very different wine stories.

And that’s what makes wine so endlessly interesting. There’s always another region to explore, another perspective to discover, and another glass worth discussing.

We’re calling it a very productive business trip. by @korculawinetours

The problem with spending your summer drinking wine in the vineyards of Korčula is eventually you have to go home and pretend that was just a holiday and not your new standard of living.

We know you’re thinking about the long afternoons, the glasses that kept getting refilled, and the view from somewhere between the vines.

And for what it’s worth, we’re pretty sure the vineyards are thinking about you too.

There’s always next summer. 🍷 by @korculawinetours

Consider this your sign to stop saving the good stuff for “someday.”

Book the trip. Take the long lunch. Order the bottle. Say yes to dessert. Stay for one more glass.

You can’t add more days to your life, but Korčula is a pretty good place to add more life to the ones you have. 🍷

Hit your protein goals. Take your supplements. Get your steps in.

But never forget your roots.

And remember wine is made from grapes, so we’re basically still on track. 🍷

Turns out the career path was always two sommelier best friends designing vacations around wine.

Meet Jen & Gaby, the founders behind Korčula Wine Tours.

Gaby is French, married to a Croatian and based on Korčula. Jen has Croatian roots, lives between New York and Korčula, and has spent years building a deep connection to the island and its wine culture.

Both are trained sommeliers, but their knowledge of Korčula goes far beyond what’s in the glass. They know the island, its winemakers, its food, its history and the people behind it. And they built KWT to give travellers access to that same depth of experience.

What began with a shared passion for Croatian wine has become a business built on real local relationships, professional wine knowledge and a genuine belief that Korčula deserves to be experienced properly.

They don’t just plan wine tours here. This is their world, and they know exactly how to show it to you.

Some places you visit. Some places feel suspiciously like home after three glasses of Pošip.

Korčula has a way of doing that. 🍷

Come for a few days. Develop an emotional attachment. Start looking at flights back before you’ve even left. You know how it goes.

Okay, technically there are more than 10 things you need to know before coming to Korčula. But we stand by #1: call us first.

Even though “Wine Tours” is in our name, but wine is only part of what we do.

We can help you with:
🍷 Wine & winery visits: the obvious one. We know the wines, the wineries and, importantly, the people behind them.

🏡 Where to stay: accommodation recommendations based on where you want to be and how you want to spend your trip.

🏝️ Seeing the island: sightseeing, villages, beaches, boat trips and the places worth making time for.

🥾 A little adventure: hiking, cycling, kayaking and other ways to see Korčula beyond a car window.

🍽️ Food & gastronomy: local food, great restaurants, traditional dishes and experiences built around eating very well.

🍯 Tastings: gin, honey, olive oil and other local tastings for anyone who wants to branch out.

🧃 Korčula with kids: family-friendly activities and experiences that everyone can actually enjoy.

🍹 Korčula without alcohol: you absolutely do not need to drink to have a brilliant experience here.

✨ The experiences you probably wouldn’t find yourself: this is where knowing the island and knowing the people counts.

Wine, cheese, pršut, olives… there’s simply no room in the schedule.

This particular scheduling conflict is courtesy of @tasovac_winery and it’s exactly the kind of problem we’re happy to arrange for you.
