EB-2 NIW case for a radiologist working in diagnostic imaging in the United States. Bruno has built a medical career of more than 11 years, with specialization in Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging and experience in women’s health, endometriosis, musculoskeletal imaging, oncology, and image-guided procedures. His background also includes teaching, leadership, scientific research, and medical training in the United States, including ECFMG certification, completion of the USMLE steps, and participation in advanced training and research programs. In the United States, Bruno intends to develop a project focused on improving diagnostic imaging through standardized protocols, better diagnostic workflows, structured reporting, quality-control systems, professional training, and research involving new medical imaging technologies. During the review process, USCIS issued a Request for Evidence, RFE. The response was structured to reinforce that Bruno’s proposed endeavor may benefit multiple institutions and professionals, extending beyond individual patient care. The case is supported by Bruno’s academic and professional background, his experience in Brazil and the United States, and the potential of his work to contribute more broadly to the field of diagnostic imaging. ➡️ Want to understand whether the EB-2 NIW may make sense for your professional background? Did you know that, in certain cases, it may be possible to pursue a Green Card without relying on a job offer in the United States? The EB-2 NIW, National Interest Waiver, may allow qualified professionals to self-petition without the need for an employer sponsor or the traditional labor certification process. However, this option requires a careful analysis. First, the professional must qualify for the EB-2 category through either an advanced degree or exceptional ability. Then, it is necessary to demonstrate that: • the proposed endeavor has substantial merit and national importance to the United States • the professional is well positioned to advance the proposed endeavor • on balance, it would be beneficial to the United States to waive the job offer and labor certification requirements Fields such as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics may involve projects with significant potential impact, but working in STEM alone does not guarantee approval. What truly matters is the combination of professional background, supporting evidence, future plans, and the relevance of the proposed contribution to the United States. For this reason, an EB-2 NIW case must be built with strategy, consistent documentation, and a strong narrative connecting the professional’s experience to the potential impact of the proposed endeavor. ➡️ Want to understand whether the EB-2 NIW may make sense for your professional background? Do you have a professional background that stands out in your field? The EB-2 may be a pathway to pursue a Green Card in the United States. 🇺🇸 The EB-2 category is intended for professionals who qualify through an advanced degree or who can demonstrate exceptional ability in the sciences, arts, or business. When qualifying through exceptional ability, professional experience alone is not enough. It is necessary to present consistent evidence showing that the applicant’s level of expertise and achievement is significantly above what is ordinarily encountered in the field. Some of the elements that may be considered include: • academic background related to the field • relevant professional experience • professional licenses or certifications • compensation consistent with a high level of expertise • membership in professional associations • recognition for achievements and significant contributions to the field Every professional journey is unique, and the evidence must be evaluated as a whole. An advanced degree is also not the only way to qualify under the EB-2 category. Additionally, depending on the strategy used, such as the EB-2 NIW, it may be possible to request a waiver of the job offer and labor certification requirements, provided that the specific requirements are met. Building a strong case involves much more than gathering documents. It requires a coherent strategy and evidence capable of demonstrating the relevance of the professional’s background and proposed endeavor. ➡️ Want to understand whether the EB-2 may make sense for your profile? Have you built a distinguished career in your field? The O-1 visa may be an option for developing your career in the United States. The O-1 is a nonimmigrant visa category for professionals who can demonstrate extraordinary ability or significant recognition in their field. Depending on the professional profile, the category may apply to fields such as science, education, business, athletics, the arts, and certain activities related to motion pictures and television. More than simply having professional experience, an O-1 case requires evidence capable of demonstrating a distinguished career. Some of the elements that may be considered include: • national or international recognition • significant awards or distinctions • publications and media coverage • original contributions to the field • participation as a judge of the work of other professionals • important or leading roles • compensation consistent with a distinguished professional trajectory Each case is evaluated according to the professional field and the evidence available. There is also an important distinction: the O-1 is a temporary nonimmigrant category. For professionals who also intend to pursue permanent residence in the United States, other strategies, such as the EB-1, may be evaluated separately. Understanding your profile before beginning the process is essential to determining the most appropriate strategy. ➡️ Want to understand whether the O-1 may make sense for your professional background?
