3 years and 10 marathons later we finally did that. HELL YEA 🥹 sub 3!! Let me in that sub 3 club y’all I’m buying bottle service for everyone 😂

This was my strongest race ever and my first negative split in the marathon. Executed it perfectly — 1st half 1:28:55 then 2nd half 1:27:56 with my fastest mile being mile 26 too at 6:30!! 🫨 Negative splits feel so good I ain’t going back unless I have to (New York marathon… 😤)

Thank you to everyone for your support, everyone that helped me get here today and to @rmhc for this opportunity!!

🏅 2:56:51 — 7min PR!!

The “Chasing 3” era

In 2022, I hit the marathon jackpot by getting into New York on my very first lottery try. Then I had to run it… and omg it was SO incredibly hard. That year still holds the record for the hottest NYC Marathon ever (75°). Both my legs cramped by mile 14. And yet, it’s still hands down my favorite race ever — a top-5 experience of my life.

New York is what started it all. It’s what kicked off this whole “Chasing 3” — to get better at this running thing, to get faster, and to someday break 3 hours. Three years, 5,000+ miles, and a ton of memories and friends later, I’m so happy looking back at a journey 2022-me could’ve never imagined.

Now we’ve come full circle. I get to run NYC again — 3 years later, and 3 weeks after finally hitting sub-3 in Chicago. You gotta love the 3s lining up like that lol.

If Chicago is the game-winner, then New York is the celebration. One last race to close the books on this era before we move to the next. Time to have the absolute best day tomorrow 🥹

Bonus: My first marathon was Disney in 2019 — I dressed up as Woody, had no idea what gels were, ran in the heaviest Adidas Ultraboosts shoes, and thought carb-loading meant getting 3 sides + rice at Panda Express. I swore off marathons after that.. until I didn’t 😂

6 hrs 41 mins ➡️ 2 hrs 56 mins. Crazy.

@philly_marathon Freedom Challenge 26.2 · 13.1 · 8k. 44 miles, 3 races, 2 days. This one’s forever a special one.

My proudest and strongest marathon I’ve ever run, even without the PR. In some ways, I’m also in that disbelief boat with many of yall. 26.2 miles after a half and 8k? How did you? What the? But why? 🤯

There’s so many variables come marathon day but if I had to find a constant answer to all of these questions I think it really just comes down to this - I just really, really, love this sport 🥹 … and getting my picture taken 😂

Capping off 2026 race season with a 90s PR. Coming off my least consistent and lowest mileage training block we absolutely take that and run with it (ha..)

Not the sub 2:55 BQ goal but with how much I had in the tank post race I’m confident I could’ve grabbed 2:54. In some ways I love knowing I can’t apply to @bostonmarathon yet. The day I’m allowed to apply will be the day I can guarantee myself in (the 5+min cutoff making the goal sub 2:50 is so crazy). I’m stupidly excited to reset and smash this time by a whole lot next year.

2027 gonna be a hell of a race year. Imma PR all the distances, yall just watch!! Also selling my Garmin cause it has been hella rude 😂

Congrats to @pogiboyoz for grabbing his own huge 20min PR too and trauma bonding with me during this 3 day carb load 😭🫃🏻

And lastly forever thankful to @itspatatohead for being the best support a runner can have. Love you.

Also if you’re considering this race I can def recommend it to anyone chasing a PR. I’ll be back here again someday to chase another one.

If only the marathon was 17 miles 😮‍💨

17 at marathon pace (6:35) isn’t a workout I’ve seen on any normal training plan… but this hasn’t really been a normal training block so AYEEE WHATEVA. Last summer streets this year I had to enjoy it the only way I know how 🙂‍↕️

7 weeks until @wgmarathon for sub 2:55 🎯

YEAAHAA LISTENNNN I’ll take the mile PR especially after doing 24 miles less than 24 hours before 😃

The saddest I’ll ever look running a race lmao this is why I prefer half marathons and marathons

10s PR from 2024 although I thought this whole time my previous mile PR was 5:17 not 5:25 .. oop 😌
