I wrote this song in 24 hours while my baby brother Joshua was fighting for his health. After finishing a caregiving shift one evening, the lyrics and melody poured out of me as if they had been waiting for that very moment. Joshuaโ€™s other caregiver, James Okubo, gently played simple chord progressions on his guitar while the song came to life. To this day, I believe it was the power of God flowing through me. I was simply a willing vessel ready to receive, ready to create, and ready to begin healing from the heartbreak of watching someone I loved suffer. The message of Take My Hand is the same today as it was then: no matter how heavy the journey feels, the Lord never lets go of us. He will always take your hand, walk with you through every trial, and faithfully lead you to where youโ€™re meant to be. Listen to โ€œTake My Handโ€ and share it with someone who needs a reminder that they are never alone. Whatever you feel God has placed in your heart to do, have faith & courage and get after it. Give it your best effort! Though there may be stumbling blocks along the way, God will guide your path and will open the right doors for you. He is always working for our good, even when things seem like a disaster. There are blessings on other side of our trials. Be blessed. You matter. God loves you.๐Ÿ’Ÿ Isaiah 41:10 โ€œFear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.โ€œ by @kristianlei
โ€œEach dayโ€™s a brand new life!โ€ I believe that in every singerโ€™s life, there is that one song that opens the door to a world of possibilities within their voice. For me, that song was โ€œA New Lifeโ€ from Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical, written by the brilliant @frank.wildhorn . I will never forget hearing my Ate @audraytd sing it at her farewell party with our Miss Saigon cast. Her performance pierced my heart, and from that moment, the song stayed with me. It became one of the most challenging songs I had ever attempted to sing. But I worked on it, prayed for the strength and ability to grow into it, and kept pushing myself until I finally felt ready to perform it. What began as a challenge became a breakthrough in my journey as a singer. To this day, โ€œA New Lifeโ€ remains one of the most beloved songs I have ever had the privilege of singing. โค๏ธ Happy World Singing Day! A little late, perhaps, but I believe every day should be a day to sing! #ANewLife #FrankWildhorn #JekyllAndHydeTheMusical #WorldSingingDay #KristianLei by @kristianlei
