As you know I recently won a @mothstories story slam in NYC. Many people asked to see the talk… I’m deeply grateful of your support. Here’s a teaser…. Or if you want to watch the whole thing click on the link in my bio. I hope it helps you as telling it helped me. ❤️

Fall at the Millhouse taken by one of our visiting artists. This time filmmaker and actor @danakreitz who worked on her new horror script. 👻

I continue to open the doors to our three bedroom cottage in rural Maine for one week a month at a very low cost (essentially to cover the cleaning and the heat!).

This is an opportunity for artists to escape, dig in and do work on a new creative project. If you’re interested in visiting reach out.

Available weekends in Jan, Feb, March and April. #creativelife #artist #artists #maineartist #art by @kristinamlibby

I’ve been spending all my time thinking about this exactly. How do we hold space to wonder at the awe of everything when the crisis of everything makes us feel safe? #writing #amwriting #edfringe by @kristinamlibby

Working on a new (immersive!) show. Testing out a small piece tonight for the first time at the our Ampersand Works in Progress dinner. A #sneakpeek for you of the direction. ❤️

Can’t wait to get feedback from all the wonderful creators in my midst. What do you think it’s about? 😘

This years cancelling of the (@anitab_org) Grace Hopper conference saddened us all! But we want you to know we are still here for you and want to continue to help you find ways to build an Ampersand life.

@shannonnash1 had a podcast called “No Boxes, All Verses” that she runs when not managing her C-Suite career.

@jessicawan has the @ampersandmanifesto which tells more great stories of how this life works and she coaches Ampersands across numerous industries.

@jessicawan @yuedengwu and I have a community for Ampersands where we put the learning in practice. Link in the comments.

And @capendarvis is living the life loud, alive and in real time as an inspiration for all.

Find more about my creative work @lightvslight.

Comment on this post with questions you would have asked at the conference or get in touch. We see you and want to help. ❤️

$I am working on a new piece and find myself obsessing over new artists and different kinds of work. It’s led me to this haunting and beautiful and wondrous music video by @olafurarnalds and @haniarani called Whispering House that I cannot stop thinking about. Originally constructed under Russian Tsar Alexander III between 1890 and 1906 to serve as a major naval defense base, the entire fortification system was ultimately a short-lived military project. In 1908, Tsar Nicholas II recognized it as a strategic misstep and ordered the fortress to be dismantled. Massive explosives were used to blow up the concrete bunkers and artillery batteries, but due to their heavy reinforcement, many structures only partially fractured. Over the last century, relentless Baltic Sea waves and coastal erosion have caused these massive brick and concrete blocks to slide down right into the waterline. I couldn’t find the song; so here is a different one by Olafur. #inspiration #nostalgia #wonder #amwri̇ti̇ng by @kristinamlibby$

Exciting update on our Ampersand dinner in NYC!

@kristinamlibby and I are now hosting Dinner & Works-in-Progress: Unleashing the Artist at the historic Greenwich House Music School, the West Village's oldest and only music school.

One week from today. Thursday, Oct 22, 7pm. Just a few spots left.

The concept: "So, what do you do?" is off the table. You show up as your artist first.

Dress in your most artistic expression. Bring a piece of work to share, or come to cheer on the people who do.

One rule: no talking about your day job until the big reveal at the end of the night.

The evening opens with a new artistic collaboration between Kristina and me. Then dinner, with our community performing. Then the reveal. Then a party.
While the professional slips away, the artist is let out to play.

Find somone who looks at you the way I look at an imaginary kite while on stage. Going through the footage from the summer and found myself surprised by this specific moment. My biggest love affair: my first kitesurfing kite. 🪁❤️ #fringe #fringefestival #soloshow #acting by @kristinamlibby
