Most living beings seek mental happiness and want to eliminate suffering, but just wishing will not bring this about. We may even create the opposite. So we must search for the cause of suffering and the cause of happiness. The afflictions are the cause of samsara, of all mental discomfort and suffering. The remedy is meditation. - HH Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje

There Is Great Joy In Giving: Meal Sponsorship Opportunity During Khenpo Ugyen’s Visit

Since the historical Buddha lived over 2500 years ago, the laity in Buddhist communities have supported the preservation of the Dharma by offering food to monastics(monks and nuns). The Buddha taught that the giver accumulates merit & the monastics give back by teaching the Dharma.

During KTC Jacksonville’s 40th Anniversary, several Lamas and monastics will be attending, including Khenpo Ugyen, and volunteers will be cooking all vegetarian meals twice a day. We invite you to make a donation to sponsor a meal for the monastics during this auspicious occasion. The cost of each meal averages between $50-$100. The names of sponsors will be read at the end of the weekend teaching and sponsors who donate $100 or more will receive a special gift from KTC Jax. Please visit ktcjax.org to make a donation or message us if you would like to donate another way to sponsor a meal for the visiting Khenpos. If you’re unable to attend the weekend teaching, you can still join in this auspicious occasion by donating! Your generosity is greatly appreciated!
