Amidst the protests in Paris, whilst students dodged tear gas and propaganda, a small but perfectly considered exhibition opened in the 7eme by the artist who is also my teacher @dominiquegerolini - whilst the shows title seems oddly resonant with the double think of our times, the work creates space for contemplation - in particular about what it means to occupy those places no one else sees...

In this new series for @paulsmithsfoundation colours, lines and shapes interact with the surface of the paper to create a kind of musical syncopation. Pure, bright tones dance with texture and fluid lines flow through untouched white spaces; we respond intuitively to their tune. Gerolini describes her process as a balance between things: colour and line, form and space, concept and articulation. One might say that she makes works which frame a moment of coalescence, just before everything falls apart or begins anew...

@ktheller @paulsmithdesign #paris #jetaime by @ktheller

Oh the sheer agony of letting go….💔💔💔

My kids forbid me to post any pictures of them on social media so no picture of my beautiful 18 year old boy on his first day at university. Instead I sneak in a picture of him and I when he was a baby. For 18 years he has been ‘held’ at first physically and then emotionally. I feel like it has gone so quickly and I have loved every minute of it. I now have to release him out into the world and hope he will be safe and well. It is a truly terrifying experience.

Thinking of all the other mums like me with aching hearts at this time ♥️ 💔😩
