As we celebrate fathers this month, may we remember that a father's greatest gift is not just provision, but his presence.

Provision pays the bills, but presence builds confidence. Provision meets needs, but presence shapes character. Provision sustains a child, but presence strengthens identity.

The heart of fatherhood goes beyond provision. It is found in the conversations, the guidance, the correction, the example, the love, and the values that fathers intentionally pass on to the next generation.

Someone once said that death is a tragedy but what's more tragic than death is to live dreamless or without goal. Such living left much to be desired. So, having a dream, or setting goals towards your dream are certainly right steps in the right direction towards being fulfilled and successful.

Having said the above, having a dream or setting goals do not automatically guarantee a man to be successful. Beyond goal setting, there is need for a great deal of discipline, focus and consistency. In fact, motivation gets you going, but discipline keeps you GROWING and if you must grow, consistency is key.

In the words of John C. Maxwell, "The only guarantee that tomorrow will be better is if we are growing today". In essence, you don't have a better tomorrow by merely wishing and hoping. You have to be intentional and deliberate and take action towards having a better tomorrow.

If you must have an overall more success and effectiveness in all your endeavors, then you must prioritize being a better leader. You need to learn how to become a better leader on a daily basis because leadership develops daily, not in a day.

In a world that constantly demands more, more effort, more productivity, and more resilience, many of us have grown weary without realizing it. We carry silent burdens, push through exhaustion, and call survival strength. Yet God never intended for His people to live in perpetual strain. From the beginning, He established rest not as a reward for the strong, but as a promise for the faithful. Rest is not weakness; it is divine alignment.

This season is an invitation to pause, to breathe, and to trust that God is still at work even when we are still. Rest is where renewal happens, where clarity returns, and where our spirits are restored. It is in rest that God refuels our purpose, heals hidden wounds, and reminds us that we are sustained by His grace, not our own effort. When we enter God’s rest, we shift from striving to surrender, from burnout to balance.

Join us for this Sunday Celebration Service @kingscourtnew as we step boldly into our season of rest. Come expecting peace, renewal, and a fresh encounter with God’s presence. It's about that time of the year (year-end / crossover into new year & beginning of new year) when people, leaders inclusive, will be making resolutions about how they will turn up in the coming year. Essentially, people will be making decisions, and choices, which will either make or mar them, this latter consequence being completely out of their control once the choices have been made.

When it comes to making choices, we must understand that everyday you are either preparing or repairing. If you make a bad choice today, you will repair tomorrow. If you make a good choice today, you prepare tomorrow for a better day. Leaders, especially, can't afford to make bad choices. The consequences could be catastrophic and regrettable. Hence, the need to learn to make good choices.

On Sunday, December 28th, 2025, I’ll be opening up a thought-provoking conversation on this essential leadership theme — one that affects leaders, decision makers and emerging leaders alike, and provide easy to apply guide and principles of making great choices.
