Alum @jadalynndixonart is a 2026 Art Meets Activism grantee for Kentucky Foundation for Women: "To support “Unmasked: Women and the Art of Healing”, a trauma-informed exhibition hosted at Louisville Visual Arts that centers diverse women artists whose work explores personal trauma, resilience, and healing in response to systemic gaps in women’s mental health support. Through curated artwork and facilitated community workshops with community partner Seven Counties Services, participants will engage in feminist-centered art-making practices that transform personal narrative into collective empowerment, fostering dialogue, visibility, and social change around the emotional wellbeing of women." #traumainformedart #artmeetsactivism #kycad #kycadalumni #healingart @kyfound4women @kycad_independent by @kycadalumni

KyCAD Alumni Exhibition spotlight on Jada Lynn Dixon, class of 2022: Materials, textures, and symbols play a central role in my process. They carry emotional weight and often reference ritual, trauma, and resilience. My approach is intuitive and sensory, shaped by an attention to pattern, energy, and atmosphere. What may seem fragile or somber in my work is ultimately a reflection of strength. My work is an effort to give form to vulnerability and to honor the act of remembering. - Jada Lynn Dixon @jadalynndixonart @2801_gallery_lou @kycad_independent #kycadalumni #kycad #artshow #artgallery #louisvilleartscene by @kycadalumni
KyCAD Alumni Exhibition spotlight on Colin Shay class of 2023! “The Diversion of Power explores the tension between equality and control. It reflects the quiet ways individuals feel confined within daily systems while constantly expending energy to navigate them. The work suggests that power is never simply held or lost, but redirected, rerouted, and absorbed through the routines of everyday life." @colinshay1 @2801_gallery_lou @kycad_independent #kycadalumni #kycad #mural #artshow #artshowreception by @kycadalumni
KyCAD Alumni Exhibition Spotlight on: Kelsi Haberman - Class of 2024 Her new work brings together textile masks made from discarded clothing collected from the streets of Louisville. Garments shaped by absence, wear, and the quiet evidence of bodies that once moved through them. @inked.irene @kycad_independent @2801_gallery_lou by @kycadalumni
KyCAD Alumni Exhibition opens February 6th Spotlight on: Abigail Womack Graduated 2025 Work: Peeping at the Window  An exploited window wearing revolting clothing while we stare in awe at her insides. Peeping at the Window reflects how innocence can be sexualized without consent. Being seen can become a form of taking. The mind retreats into "dreaming" when the body is no longer safe.  @kycad_independent @eyes___desire @2801_gallery_lou #louisvilleartscene #artschoolgraduate #artexhibition #artgallery by @kycadalumni
Spotlight on @lizard_mountaintop for KyCAD Alumni Show: Lizard Hill, KyCAD graduate 2024.  Their work, Closeted Curiosities, will be displayed in this year's KyCAD Alumni Exhibition.  An interactive closet sculpture, built using scrap wood and tracing paper. The structure houses fifteen individual prints of their exploratory collage series pinned on hangers within the closet. This conceptual work explores concepts of queer culture and self expression. @kycad_independent @2801_gallery_lou #kycadalumni #kycad #artshow #artgallery #louisvilleartscene by @kycadalumni
