$Mantracking is often described to me as “back in fashion.” Some even suggest my work has contributed to that perception. My answer remains unchanged: I’m not chasing trends. I’ve been putting in the work for over 12 years to ensure this powerful, field-proven skill does not disappear. Simply, mission focus. That means more than just running courses, workshops, webinars, or a podcast. It means continuous output—books, publications, and operational content—to demonstrate that tracking is not obsolete. It is current, relevant, and fully integrated with disciplines like forensic botany, forensic podometry, blood pattern analysis, and beyond. From day one, I’ve actively sought connections with trackers more experienced than me. Not for visibility—but for knowledge. Real knowledge. Sometimes that approach was met with trust and professionalism. Other times, with resistance and hostility. Over time, some of those dynamics have shifted—others haven’t. That’s the reality. This community is sadly divided. There are many reasons for that. But my position is clear: I choose to build, not fracture. I just want to be part of something solid, operational, and built to last. Something grounded in humility—the kind this demanding craft requires—and driven by the discipline to improve every single day. Track by track. Surface by surface. Exactly as my mentor @mikehulltracker taught me. @thewayoftracking Pic credit @anna__brauns #mantracking #SARtracking #tacticaltracking #forensictracking by @kytlynwalken$

I think human consciousness is a tragic misstep in human evolution. We became too self aware; nature created an aspect of nature separate from itself. We are creatures that should not exist by natural law. We are things that labor under the illusion of having a self, a secretion of sensory experience and feeling, programmed with total assurance that we are each somebody, when in fact everybody’s nobody. I think the honorable thing for our species to do is deny our programming, stop reproducing, walk hand in hand into extinction, one last midnight, brothers and sisters opting out of a raw deal.

"Look Johnny, let me come in and get you the hell out of here!"

"How so?"
"By reading our tracks back!"

A bit of a personal interpretation of my fave movie.
Don't hate me for this.

If you haven't had enough of my deep voice yet, 😆.. A new episode of my Mantracking Skills podcast on Spotify comes out on the 5th of every month. Every episode covers a different topic related to Mantracking, often exploring ideas that are a little outside the box and potentially groundbreaking.
You can listen here 👇🏼

And most importantly... no AI involved, either in writing the scripts or recording the episodes.

Zij traint zogenaamde Search and Rescueteams over héél Europa in hun zoektochten naar vermisten.

Vragen? Stuur me een PM!

Most of you probably don't know that I am also a certified Level 2 Survival Instructor.
However, I have never actively promoted myself in this field or pursued it professionally. The reason? I have always believed that life is too short to dedicate yourself to learn and then teach more than one skill in a real, professional way. There's plenty of valuable Survival Instructors out there, and my presence in this field doesn't make any big difference. As always, when you chose which course you want to attend, VET the background of the Instructors. That's the exact thing I always did for all the courses I attended as a student.

When out for training solo, I like to take my time to attune to the rhythm of the area. Scan first, then track. Observe before identifying tracks. Understand before following.

Who cares about the bloody algorithm.
The Alps don't need any social recognition.
They are beautiful because they are pure in their harshness.
I am profoundly proud of calling it HOME.

What a day hiking and tracking on the Swiss Alps look alike. You don't see the vertical slopes, you don't see the pain in the knees. You are just overwhelmed by their undeniable immensity.

Prijs is € 230,oo (per deelnemer, per dag. Inclusief lesmateriaal).
