October made me feel like my birthday was a month long 😄. Feeling blessed it was filled with the best people and perhaps too much incredible food 🤌🏾 #october #octoberdump #photodump #libraseason ♎️🍂 by @l_wils92
15 Min Race Prep | Leg Day 🔥 2 exercises. 2 rounds. 15 minute target. Hybrid race prep doesn’t need to take over your training. I incorporate short bursts of race specific work into my regular sessions to practise the movements and maintain race readiness. They also double up as a great dynamic warm up before weights. Here’s one to try: 50 wall balls (4–6kg) + pick ONE: * 2km BikeErg * 40–50 kcal Air Bike * 1km Row 2 rounds. Back to back. No rest. Aim for 15 minutes or less. The second round is where it gets challenging. Your heart rate is up, fatigue kicks in, and the focus is on maintaining technique and movement standards. New to hybrid training? Scale where needed and take up to 60 seconds between rounds. Save it and give it a go! 🔥 #hybridfitness #fitnessjourney #hybridathlete #quickworkouts #gymlife by @l_wils92
POWER HOUR 2 🔥 | 3 exercises. 3 runs. 3 rounds. A serious full body burner to test your fitness, build endurance and practise compromised running. 3 rounds, back to back: 🏃🏾‍♀️ 600m Assault treadmill run 500m SkiErg 🏃🏾‍♀️ 600m Assault treadmill run 50 wall balls (6kg) 🏃🏾‍♀️ 600m Assault treadmill run 50m burpee broad jumps The totals: 5.4km running, 1,500m SkiErg, 150 wall balls and 150m burpee broad jumps 🔥 My approach: Aim for each 600m run in roughly 3 minutes. The Assault treadmill is a different beast, making it much tougher to maintain pace as fatigue builds across all 9 runs. The challenge: Keep moving! Catch your breath if needed, but once the clock starts, it doesn’t stop. Make it yours: Adjust the pace, weight, reps or distances to suit your level. A proper test of your engine. Give it a go and let me know how you get on! And a shoutout to @itszeefitness for the push today for me to post more 🫡💪🏾 #HybridTraining #FunctionalFitness #WorkoutIdeas #HybridFitness fitnessjourney by @l_wils92
Still showing up. Still putting in the work. Still finding ways to get better. Progress takes time. Trust the process and keep going. #trusttheprocess #progress #quotes by @l_wils92
POWER HOUR 🔥 | 3 exercises. 3 runs. 3 rounds. Being away from home doesn’t mean training stops. Sometimes you’ve got to get creative and mix things up with what you’ve got. Workouts like this full-body burner help me stay hybrid race ready, build endurance and practise compromised running. 3 rounds, back-to-back: 🏃🏾‍♀️ 3:30 run 40 burpees 🏃🏾‍♀️ 3:30 run 500m row 🏃🏾‍♀️ 3:30 run 40 DB squat to press (2 × 10kg) My approach: Aim to finish in an hour. I start at 12.5 km/h, increasing by 0.5 km/h each round. Keep the runs manageable but challenging - round 3 should feel tough! The rule: Catch your breath if needed, but once the clock starts, it doesn’t stop. Make it yours: Scale the pace, weights, reps or rounds up or down to suit your level. Give it a go and let me know how you get on! #HybridTraining #FullBodyWorkout #FunctionalFitness #WorkoutIdeas #fitnessjourney by @l_wils92

1:49:57 - NEW HALF MARATHON PB 🔥🏃🏾‍♀️ Another spontaneous side quest complete! Signed up for my first running event last night and deliberately picked a flat course to see where my running was at. I haven’t run a half outdoors since January and almost met my maker around 15K 🫠 but picked up PBs at 15K, 10 miles, 20K & the half. Reassuring to see something in my training is translating. Shout out to the stranger I ran alongside, we half unknowingly paced each other for most of the route, which really kept me going. And to @runthroughuk - I usually run alone and have avoided events like this thinking I’d find them overwhelming, but it was really well organised, great fun & met some lovely people. If you take anything from the things I willingly put myself through (& pay for 😂), it’s this: don’t wait for other people to do the things you want to do. Whatever the challenge, only you can do the work and get yourself to the finish line. #HalfMarathon #HalfMarathonPB #RunThrough #RunningUK #HybridTraining by @l_wils92
First @gymrace_ 🏁 & a top 10 finish 💪🏾 A spontaneous one - ticket bought less than 48 hours before racing 🫪. I hadn’t specifically trained for it, although I did practise a couple of the newer exercises twice beforehand. Really happy with the result 🔥 Some nice standouts too - 6th fastest on both the kettlebell swings and ski, with my fastest 1km coming last at 4:10. These races are definitely building my confidence. I’m comfortable with my physique, but women performing well in this space are typically much leaner in stature than me. It’s a nice reminder that performance doesn’t have one particular look. It was also a good test of whether I can train to stay race-ready, rather than train to get race-ready. No specific training block + a last-minute entry - feels like I’m on the right track. Lots to like about Gym Race, with a few things I’d change. Swipe for my review ➡️ #GymRace #HybridRacing #FitnessRacing #HybridTraining #fitnessjourney by @l_wils92
Happy Friday! Reflecting on my third Hybrid Games before @gymrace_ tomorrow - I finished fourth in my age group across the weekend, which felt like a real win 💪🏾🔥 For anyone unfamiliar it’s 10 x 600m runs, 10 workout stations + a sprint to the finish. Probably my best Hybrid Games experience yet - lots to like, but a few things still to improve. First time trying weighted pull-ups & I had no idea how far I’d get 👀 Shoutout to the big boss himself @issafitnessuk for convincing (telling 😂) me to give it a go. I stopped at 15kg because for me, quality reps will always beat chasing a number. I’d rather own the weight I can move well than add weight just for the sake of it. A good reminder to get comfortable being uncomfortable - try things that push you out of your comfort zone and surround yourself with people who push you further than you might push yourself 💪🏾 #fitness #fitnessjourney #pullups #strengthtraining #gymlife by @l_wils92
#throwbackthursday to Farnborough @thehybridgames.uk before it’s time to go again in Birmingham on Saturday 😬 I’m feeling surprisingly calm, considering I’ve always thought your third race is the hardest. The first is about learning, the second comes with obvious improvements, but by the third it’s a mental battle to see how much further you can push yourself. The plan was to be leaner by now, but I’m still feeling good, the work is done, and I’m looking forward to getting back on the start line alongside some incredibly strong & inspiring women. The aim is another Top 20 finish, so fingers crossed 🤞🏾💪🏾 #hybridtraining #gym #fitness #fitnessjourney by @l_wils92
I’ve been locking in on my homework set by the big boss himself @issafitnessuk 🫡 who told me today, if I don’t record it, it does count so, here you go! A barbell shoulder press is one thing. Taking away any leg drive until it’s absolutely needed hits completely different. It’s a long time since I’ve been humbled by 40kg but dropping your ego, always being open to pushing yourself in new ways & locking in on the basics can really make a difference. If you’ve never tried it, give it a go 💪🏾 (side note, ignore the sweat, a 5km & 15 mins of HIIT was completed beforehand!) #strengthtraining #barbellpress #Gym #fitness #fitnessmotivation by @l_wils92
