The numbers speak for themselves.

There’s a lot of misinformation going around, so let’s keep it simple: every Labyrinth pump is custom built to our high flow specifications. When you purchase a Labyrinth Automotive HPFP kit you are not buying unmodified, off the shelf parts. We do not sell OEM pumps from any manufacturer, and we’ve provided the data so customers can compare some of the available options for themselves.

Nobody else in this segment offers this level of flow at this price point.

As shown in the graph, the Labyrinth Automotive high-pressure fuel pump displaces 1.558 cc/rev, 63.3% more than the stock B58 pump and even edges out the LT4 HPFP, all without the inflated price tag.

More flow. More headroom. Built to perform.

🚨 THESE MYSTERIOUS TIMING CORRECTIONS WERE ROBBING THIS B58 OF POWER 🚨

Most people see timing corrections and immediately blame bad gas, worn spark plugs, failing coils, or an aggressive tune.

In this case, none of those were the problem.

The culprit was the TU pump.

What’s surprising is that this BMW 540i wasn’t even close to maxing out its turbocharger. The fuel system was running out of capacity long before the turbo reached its limit.

Many enthusiasts have been led to believe that the TU pump is the ultimate fueling solution for the B58 platform. The truth is that it isn’t nearly as capable as most people think.

The logs shown here were taken from the same car, on the same tune, with the same turbo, using the same fuel.

The only change was the HPFP.

The result? Timing corrections disappeared.

So yes—contrary to what many people believe, timing corrections can absolutely be caused by a maxed-out HPFP.

Don’t let your fuel system hold your engine back.

Swipe for the proof. ➡️

LABYRINTH HPFP WAS THE ONLY CHANGE MADE.

✅ Same BMW 540i
✅ Same turbo
✅ Same tune
✅ Same fuel
✅ Same conditions

The only difference between these logs is the HPFP.

Timing corrections disappeared after the upgrade.

This customer’s turbo, plugs, tune, weather, were not the limitation.

The fuel system was.

The TU pump was already running out of capacity while the turbo still had plenty left to give.

The TU pump has become the “gold standard” upgrade in the B58 community.

But the reality is that many setups can outgrow it much sooner than people expect.

If your fuel system can’t keep up, the ECU will start pulling timing to protect the engine.

Don’t let your fuel system hold your engine back.

If you’re experiencing unexplained timing corrections, especially on upgraded turbo setups, your HPFP may be the bottleneck.

The turbo can only make the power that the fuel system can support. by @labyrinthautomotive
