A decade in NYC today. Funny how time keeps doing its thing and I guess I do too. One question I’m never quite sure how to answer is why I moved here. I have a few canned responses. There are hundreds of reasons why living here is enticing. But it’s something I’ve had to ask myself on a deeper level. More of a “What were you running from?”. Likely myself. Or maybe the idea of being a boring nobody in a boring place. But as it turns out, I’m still a nobody just in a busier place. And I’m ok with that. by @laces_out_dan

2016 / 2026 / 2011 ~ 10 yrs ago I put together a small Elliott tribute show @troubadourwinebar Some talented friends & I performed his songs for hours. A friend of his even showed up & told me a story about Elliott drunkenly singing Wonderwall on his voicemail by @laces_out_dan

A fond childhood memory of mine was spending the 4th of July at my grandparents cabin up in Northern Minnesota. It was an old log cabin at the top of a hill that was accessible only by boat. So, after 4-5 hours of driving, we’d load our luggage and food onto a pontoon to bring over to the cabin dock. From there we’d load it into a rickety wooden cart on tracks (like in a coal mine) and a motor would hoist it up the steep hill. The mosquitos were always thick but the loon calls echoing over the moonlit lake at night were magical. Karen & Bill are my mother’s parents and this is a song I wrote for them. by @laces_out_dan

EP1 - Diamonds & Pain - These songs mean a lot to me. Written and recorded over the last couple years going through some of the most intense feelings of loneliness and addiction. I didn’t think I’d ever get to putting this out. But I made it through to share with you. Grateful and humbled to be back to living life again. EP2 is now coming along nicely :) <link in bio/streaming> by @laces_out_dan
