St Ignatius defeated North Canton Hoover 14-8 Tuesday night. It was a huge win for the Wildcats, helping them cement a top 2 slot in the region with seeding on the horizon In a game of runs it was Senior attackman Michael McManamon who played like a rock for 48 minutes - riding, GBing & helping secure bonus possessions for the Ignatius offense that allowed the Wildcats to widen the boat race and stay out of striking distance from any Viking comeback attempt Michael also poured in 6 goals during the contest to claim his Paisan status. A double hat trick sounds like a mighty fine reason to celebrate with some double pep courtesy of our friends at @geracisrestaurant - a hot honey drizzle is highly recommended by many for that sweet heat that mimics Michael’s tasty game Congratulations to the Wildcats on the regional rivalry victory and congrats to Mike on earning that $25 gift card Enjoy the win, enjoy the ‘Za fellas! 🍕🥍🤌 #HTC by @lacrosse.the.land
Gilmour Academy defeated Shaker Heights 7-6 this past Saturday in an armored up affair between two teams quietly having successful seasons. With the win, Gilmour moves to 6-1 on the season and is charging hard towards a top seed in Region 6 Senior Midfielder, Zack Cox earned the Paisan of the Game and a $25 gift card from @geracisrestaurant for his tough D, relentless riding and effectiveness in transition. Zack played an inspired all round game for the Lancers and scored a huge goal to tie the game late, plowing through multiple Red Raiders to deliver his dagger in the 4th qtr. Great game to watch, lots of individuals worthy of praise, but there can be only one… Congratulations to the Lancers on the big win, congrats to Zack on making it to the Paisan Pantheon! Enjoy the win, enjoy the ‘Za fellas! 🍕🥍 #HTC by @lacrosse.the.land
Last night St Ignatius defeated their rival St Edward’s to secure their near west side lacrosse bragging rights for another calendar year. Down 2-0 at the end of the 1st, the Wildcats had to dig a little deeper than they expected to mount a comeback on their Senior Night Leading the cause with his on field efforts and in huddle hype, Will French refused to let his squad go quietly into the night. The senior attackman’s timely goals, relentless riding and calm leadership helped the Wildcats secure the victory and earn Will his coveted Paisan status. The game was played at John Carrol University, right across the street from the OG @geracisrestaurant - a perfect spot to reward Mr French with his $25 gift card. Fortunately for Will and all you West Side Paisans, there is now a new Geraci’s out at @birdtownbrewing in Lakewood to redeem your gift cards and enjoy the best slice in the North Coast. Congratulations to Will and the Wildcats on their victory over their rival! Enjoy the win, enjoy the ‘Za fellas 🍕🥍🤌 #HTC by @lacrosse.the.land
The Kenston Bombers defeated the University School Preppers 11-8 last night, putting the Bainbridge Boys in the driver’s seat for a top seed in Region 6 The Bombers battled back from an early 0-4 deficit, chipping away steadily at the margin before taking their first lead in the 4th Qtr and landing the victory Junior midfielder, Jackson Allotta was doing much of the heavy lifting in bringing the Bombers back from the brink. His heady decisions, impactful dodging & team first play really carried the day for Kenston. Allotta earned his Paisan status by tallying 8 points in the contest (4 goals & 4 assists) while harassing the US defense all game long Congratulations to the Bombers on the big win and congrats to Jackson on earning his Paisan of the Game status and a $25 gift card from our friends at @geracisrestaurant Enjoy the win, enjoy the ‘Za fellas! 🍕🥍🤌 #HTC by @lacrosse.the.land
Congratulations to Walsh Jesuit on doubling up on two @geracisrestaurant Games of the Week winners! Last night the Warriors defeated Chagrin Falls 12-5 Senior goalie, Grant Weber stood on his head all night, and was awarded the Paisan of the Game for his play in cage. By making key saves, Weber allowed Walsh to extend out defensively, take chances offensively and dominate the possession game needed to secure the win Also, senior attackman, Nathan Klug takes home the belated Paisan of the Game from the Warriors victory over their rival Hoban earlier in the season. Unfortunately it was cold, wet and I was severely under the weather that night so I couldn’t get Nate the coveted card…but, a true Paisan always pays their debts! Klug earned his Paisan status by punishing Hoban with 4 goals and poised play in a heated rivalry game. Congratulations to the Warriors on two huge wins vs Region 6 foes, and congratulations to Grant and Nathan on earning their Paisan status & the Geraci’s $25 gift card that comes with it! Enjoy the win, enjoy the ‘Za 🍕🥍🤌 #HTC by @lacrosse.the.land
Congratulations to the Hudson Explorers for getting the huge regional win last night vs the Wildcats of St Ignatius Hudson played with passion and purpose all night, earning the impressive victory while sending a message to the rest of the North Coast Hudson balled out at all levels, but the two big difference makers for the home team were junior goalie, Jack Sutton and senior pole, Joe Cavalcanti Sutton stood tall in net, making 15 saves while clearing the ball effectively and leading the defense. He stopped a bunch of big shots early on, allowing Hudson to play their patented brand of bully ball in building their lead. Cavalcanti was the primary bully & tone setter for the Explorers. The senior captain took face offs, matched up with Iggy’s best, cause havoc all game and excelled in transition with the ball in his stick - pushing his squad to the huge victory Gianni and Giuseppe really earned their Paisain status for their inspired play last night… and let’s not forget the $25 gift cards, courtesy of our friends at @geracisrestaurant - have fun Exploring the menu fellas, lots to love Enjoy the win, enjoy the ‘Za! 🍕🥍🤌 #HTC by @lacrosse.the.land
Rocky River gave no quarter in their route of Copley today & showed no mercy in flying their flag as a most dangerous vessel in the North Coast 🏴‍☠️ Seniors Ryan Taylor and Joe Smith really helped the Pirates open up the sails in the victory today: •Taylor dominated on the X, played relentlessly box to box, gobbled up countless GBs & chipped in 2 goals to round out his day •Smith showed out on the offensive side in dodging, feeding & finishing all game - scoring natural hat trick (that’s three goals in a row for all you landlubbers) in the 1st qtr to start the boat race, arrrg! Congratulations to the Pirates on their plunder, with well earned Paisan status for Ryan & Joe - make good use of those gift cards at the new @geracisrestaurant location opening up in Birdtown Brewing!!! Enjoy the win, enjoy the ‘Za fellas 🍕🥍🤌🏴‍☠️ #HTC by @lacrosse.the.land
Congratulations to The Kenston Bombers for beating Chagrin Falls last night 5-4 in triple OT. With the win, Kenston brings the rivalry’s bragging rights back to Bainbridge for the first time in over a decade The game was electric despite the low score, with every precious possession running the gamut of emotions for both teams. Kenston Junior Defender, Tucker Meeks, was the tone setter for the Bombers in playing with the passion of a true Paisan. He was in the mix every possession: causing turnovers, scooping GBs and sparking transition. Tucker really worked his butt off for his team and for that Geraci’s $25 gift card You could taste the desire resonating from the Bomber bench all evening, and it was Meeks who embodied this urgency most off all. Exhausted after giving it everything they had for 7 periods of lacrosse, it was a well earned victory for the boys in blue! Enjoy the win, enjoy the ‘Za fellas 🍕🥍🤌 #HTC by @lacrosse.the.land
Big shout out to brothers Parker & Jaxon Chang of the Copley Indians for their inspired play in earning their Geraci’s gift cards as Paisans of the Game after their 16-8 victory over University School. The game was close, 4-3 Copley at halftime; but the Chang boys took it personally from there, slinging the gasoline required to fuel the 2nd half rout and secure the impressive road victory Combining for 10 Goals, 5 assists, several big time GBs and some highlight reel plays, these two brothers really showed out for their Paisan status in helping their tribe posterize the Preppers. Congratulations to the Chang boys, their teammates and coaches on a fun win out in Hunting Valley! Enjoy the win & the ‘Za fellas 🍕🥍🤌 #HTC by @lacrosse.the.land
We are back with our first Geraci’s Game of the Week and Paisan of the Game Awards for Spring 2026 The first Game of the Week featured Wooster vs Medina for some old school North Coast lax rivalry action. The hometown Medina Bees defeated the visiting Wooster Generals 9 to 5 - Coach K’s Crew were buzzing all afternoon and looked pretty tough in the win Freshman midfielder Bryson Hoffman scored 3 goals and showed grittiness well beyond his years in securing the $25 gift card courtesy of Geraci’s Pizza The hat trick hero was calm with the ball in his stick & fearless going to the rack; showing the poise & passion necessary to be crowed Paisan of the Game Great job Bryson, congratulations to the Bees! Enjoy the win & the ‘Za 🍕🥍🤌 #HTC You can hear all about this one (and many others) to kick off our podcast coverage of local North Coast lacrosse news and notes …new episode drops soon…link in bio… by @lacrosse.the.land
