🇦🇼 Aruba – what a mountain bike adventure! 🚵‍♂️🌵

What a great experience racing @laleyendamtb.aruba

I was honestly surprised by the incredible trails this island has to offer. Rocky, technical, challenging and so much fun! Some sections really reminded me of the @capeepic in South Africa. And that says a lot! 🇿🇦

But beyond the racing, it was the amazing atmosphere, the passionate MTB community and the friendly people that made this event so special.

Great trails, great people and plenty of good vibes. That’s what mountain biking is all about! 🙌

Aruba, you truly deserve your name – One Happy Island! ❤️🇦🇼

Thanks to everyone who made this experience so memorable!

What an unexpected adventure was @laleyendamtb.aruba 🇦🇼🌵🥹

🌵 Technical trails, cactuses, rocks and punchy climbs
🏝️ Early morning racing, followed by beach or pool time
❤️ The warmest welcome from the local cycling community
🍻 An afterparty almost longer than the race itself

The stages were short, but racing in that heat was no joke! 🥵 Despite a few organisational challenges in this first edition, the team adapted quickly and improved things each day! What a team!

With incredible trails and unique landscapes, Aruba has huge mountain-biking potential. I hope this becomes a regular event on the MTB calendar! 🚵‍♀️🌵

I travelled to Aruba on my own, with no idea what to expect, but this little island surprised me every single day! 🤩 I’m leaving with friendships I’ll treasure for life. I even left with tears in my eyes🫣🥹❤️ I never really wanted it to end!

To all the volunteers, riders and supporters: THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for making me feel so welcome. You are all amazing! ❤️🇦🇼

Winning was a lovely bonus, but the real prize was this lifetime experience. Huge thanks to @arubatourism for this incredible opportunity!❤️

Scroll through this carousel for a glimpse of the race. There’s still so much more to share, and hope to make another post soon full of other special moments!

Until next time, One Happy Island😊🏝️❤️

We finally understand why they call Aruba ‘One Happy Island’! 🏝️ This was @laleyendamtb.aruba 🇦🇼
Think we had a good time?

Honestly, the afterparty lasted longer than the actual racing. Now THAT’S how you know it was a good event! 😎✌🏻

We didn’t just win the race… we also won the unofficial afterparty endurance challenge😎🏆

Turns out, you can train for everything, right? 😉

For more pro tips, ask Mr @karlplatt1403 himself!🍻
I think I have to train more 🫣
