From fragments of wood, a story takes shape. 🧡🖤
Layers, textures, colour and African silhouettes come together in this expressive mixed-media piece celebrating connection, culture and the beauty of creating with what we have.

Art is not always about what you start with, but what you dare to create from it.

$Title: Dissonance Medium: Charcoal on canvas Dimensions: 2 x 3 ft This piece was born out of a profound period of mental restlessness and emotional fragmentation those solitary moments when the mind feels pulled in conflicting directions, caught between quiet endurance and internal chaos. Working with raw charcoal allowed the tactile friction of each stroke to mirror that inner weight. Every sharp tonal shift, abrasive erasure, and layered shadow became a way to release feelings of detachment and unspoken pressure, translating a private vulnerability into a tangible, structured form that confronts rather than conceals. The narrative centers on an internal dialogue within a single identity. Rather than presenting a unified persona, the visual planes fracture into overlapping profiles—one facing outward toward reality with heavy, closed lids in quiet endurance, while the other turns away into shadow, representing guarded thoughts, memory, and unresolved doubt. It tells the story of an individual navigating the quiet friction between who they are required to be and the multifaceted, fragile truths they carry beneath the surface, ultimately finding balance in the raw acceptance of every broken edge. @artplaceafrica #contemporary#interiordesign #customart #abstract by @lambo_studios$

$There is an incredible energy here, it almost feels like the surface itself is vibrating. It’s not just a painting of a street; it feels like the street is pushing outward into the room. What drew you to build this composition on such a heavily fractured, dimensional surface? Artist: The city isn’t flat, so why should the canvas be? Lagos and really any bustling Nigerian urban center doesn't exist in two dimensions. It is a place of overlapping realities, constant movement, and dense human experience. By building the canvas out of offset, multilayered wood blocks, I wanted the physical structure to mirror the compressed architecture and chaotic rhythm of the streets. As light moves across the room throughout the day, the shadows on those wooden edges shift. The piece never stays completely still. Title: Danfo Chronicles 🚌✨

Medium: Impasto Acrylic on Canvas

There is a specific, unstoppable rhythm to Lagos, and it breathes through the iconic yellow Danfo.

"Danfo Chronicles" is a celebration of urban survival, daily hustle, and community. Through thick, textured impasto strokes, this piece captures the beautiful chaos of Lagos street life. The yellow bus isn't just transit; it’s the ultimate symbol of grit, representing the shared journey of everyday people moving toward their dreams despite the madness.

It's quite funny remembering the experiences of being in busy local area in some side of lagos especially in a Monday morning especially when you forgot to wake up on time, you just know within yourself that you're finished because for sure you will get to work very late. Taking a nearest bus available with exorbitant transport fare called at you, but you've got no choice but just take it because you're running late for work. And it's raining heavily. Mehn, it's an experience I can't forget and we can relate with as far as you're lagos is concerned and you reside in lagos😂😂😂
