I had the honor of guest lecturing at @spelman_college , exploring the social determinants of health and how they impact maternal health outcomes for women everywhere using real-time data. From access to quality care to systemic inequities, these factors play a powerful role in shaping a woman’s journey through pregnancy, birth, and beyond.

If you’re a hospital, institution, health organization, public health department, university, or corporate wellness program, + beyond let’s work together to bridge the gap in maternal health. I specialize in delivering workshops, panels, and lectures that provide actionable solutions for improving outcomes through education, equity, and holistic care practices.

📩 Let’s collaborate to create change. DM me or email contact@lamiswombcare.com for speaking inquiries.

Motherhood is a journey you deserve to walk with support, community, confidence, peace AND care 🤎

You’ve heard it before: “I don’t need a doula” but here’s the truth: having a doula gives you a peace of mind knowing there is expertise and support focused on YOU.

As a certified doula, I’m not here to replace your medical team- I work with them to support YOU in creating your desired birth story, however it unfolds. This is about YOU, feeling nurtured, confident, and prepared every step of the way.

Investing in the care you deserve will be the best decision you have ever made.

Your wellness is worth it. Your peace of mind is priceless.

Call/text (678) 667-3760 or visit EyeCanBe.org to schedule your consultation for doula support.

Postpartum Recovery Doesn’t End at 6 Weeks.

One of the most common misconceptions about postpartum recovery is that you’re “fully healed” after your 6-week postpartum checkup.

While that visit is an important milestone, recovery continues beyond a single appointment. Healing after childbirth may include physical recovery, feeding support, nutrition, sleep, mental health, and adjusting to life with your new baby. Every birthing individual experience is different.

This July, during Postpartum Changes Awareness Month, let’s normalize caring for the birthing individual —not just the newborn.

Our LAMIS Scholars connected with Atlanta families during the 3rd Annual Atlanta Black Maternal Health Week Block Party hosted by 4Kira4Moms. 💜

Through community outreach and health education, our scholars helped raise awareness about maternal health while sharing free educational resources and connecting families to trusted healthcare providers across the Atlanta area.

Experiences like these give our scholars the opportunity to put leadership into practice while advancing our mission of preparing the next generation of health leaders to serve their communities.

Because creating healthier communities starts with showing up, listening, and investing in people.

Preeclampsia is often talked about as a blood pressure condition in pregnancy, but there is more to it than just the numbers.

During pregnancy, your body is constantly changing, and monitoring blood pressure is important for catching early warning signs. But support should not stop there.

Stress, fear, and feeling unsupported can all affect how your body feels during pregnancy, which is why whole-person care matters.

In this video, I’m showing a simple approach I use with my clients, checking blood pressure, while also creating space to release fear and support emotional wellbeing.

Every pregnancy is different, and care should always be personalized and guided by a qualified provider.

Save this if you are pregnant or supporting someone who is 🤍 and share it with a mom who deserves more support during pregnancy.

If your baby only sleeps when you carry them, you are not doing anything wrong.

Most new parents were never shown how to use a baby carrier in a way that actually helps babies feel safe and calm.

When your baby is high on your chest and fully supported, they usually relax much faster.

Save this for later and send it to a new parent who feels overwhelmed right now 🤍

How has a doula improved your birth experience? Thank you @lamis.wombcare for all you do to support the health of all moms and babies.

Women of color in the US face higher rates of maternal death and severe complications from childbirth due to social, economic, and environmental factors. One powerful way to drive change? Increased access to doulas. Doulas offer emotional care, advocacy, and support that can help improve birth outcomes and protect mental health.

Postpartum isn’t just about surviving—it’s about recovering with a plan👏🏾🤎

Today, I supported my client with a @fridamom abdominal support binder, paired with breathwork and mobility to reduce swelling, support her core, and help her feel safe in her body again.

Belly binding can be powerful, but only when used correctly and at the right time for your healing process.

✅ Reduce postpartum bloating
✅ Support abdominal healing (especially after C-section)
✅ Improve posture and comfort during recovery

If you’re looking for a postpartum belly binder, @fridamom is a go-to—but the tool is only part of the plan.

This is what womb-centered postpartum care looks like.

I’m now accepting new clients. Click the link in bio to apply for a custom recovery plan tailored to your body and birth story @lamis.wombcare
