What is a donor advised fund (DAF?) It’s pretty much what it sounds like! A fund that’s advised by YOU.

Individuals, families, and businesses can contribute to a fund and recommend grants to charitable organizations or projects they care about. It’s a flexible way to give back and support the causes that matter most to you!

Through community philanthropy, the power of endowment, and our deep understanding of Lancaster County’s needs and opportunities, we can help connect your generosity to meaningful impact ▶️ Give by @lancfound

This is what education in action looks like.

Sixth-grade students from the School District of Lancaster have the opportunity to spend three immersive days at NorthBay Adventure Camp, where science, character development, and outdoor adventure come together for a much-needed break from screens and everyday school pressures.

With support from a Lancaster Environmental Fund grant, every student is invited to participate, including those who may need additional accommodations.

What if you could team up with others to make a bigger difference?

That’s a giving circle! It’s a group of people who combine their resources, knowledge, and generosity around a common cause and decide together where it goes.

It’s just one of the ways the power of endowment can be harnessed by anybody in the community. Curious about the different types of funds we have? Learn more ➡️ Give by @lancfound

1924. The year the Community Foundation was established AND the inspiration behind the name of our 24 Club! But what exactly IS the 24 Club?

The 24 Club is our way of recognizing and celebrating people who have made plans to give back to Lancaster County through a legacy gift. It’s a community of people who care about making a difference, even for generations they may never meet!

Your impact can live beyond your lifetime! Learn more about how ➡️ Give by @lancfound

Four years ago, the Lancaster County Community Foundation’s LGBTQ+ Giving Circle began with an idea to bring people together through collective giving and support organizations serving Lancaster County’s LGBTQ+ community. What started with modest fundraising expectations has since grown into an initiative that has awarded more than $370,000 in grants.

The Giving Circle recently celebrated their fourth anniversary at @peppertheoevents, bringing together supporters, community leaders and representatives from nonprofit organizations that have benefited from its funding over the years.

Established in 2022, the initiative allows individuals to pool contributions of any size to support local nonprofits addressing the needs of LGBTQ+ residents. Since its founding, the Giving Circle has awarded 30 grants supporting programs that collectively serve more than 15,000 community members.

This year alone, the Giving Circle awarded more than $150,000 to nine organizations. Recipients included @gracies.house, @lancastercountychooseslove @lancasterpride @patransequity @epac_theater @lgbtcentralpa @lancasterfriendsschool @sunpointwellness @keystone_business_alliance. The funding supports initiatives involving mental health, youth development, advocacy and community programming.

The gathering also recognized the volunteers, grant reviewers, advisory committee members and donors who have helped sustain the Giving Circle, along with nonprofit partners whose work has benefited from its funding.

As the Giving Circle looks toward its fifth year, the impact of those contributions extends beyond the grants themselves. Through the organizations receiving support, LGBTQ+ individuals and families throughout Lancaster County have greater opportunities to find connection, access resources and be part of communities where they feel welcomed and accepted.
