Life on the lake - it inspires the thought: is the lake still serene if no one can see it?

Between meditation, learning, and connecting, our home is yours in every corner.

Warm sunlight through the trees, the changing colours of Koggala Lake, fresh food coming out of the kitchen and familiar faces going about their day.

Between classes, shared meals, conversations and quiet afternoons in the garden, it’s these everyday moments that make Lanka Yoga feel like home. by @lankayoga.lk

Push, pull, lift up. Three simple actions I often use in vinyasa classes.

But in a twist, I want to take it a little further. Rather than pulling the shoulder towards the hip, can we create resistance from the core itself?

The closer we get to core against core, the less we need to rely on stretching through the outer hip.

It takes a little practice to find. by @lankayoga.lk

Food is a big part of daily life at Lanka Yoga.

Our kitchen is full of Sri Lankan flavours, fragrant spices, fresh vegetables, colourful curries and generous plant-based meals. There’s always plenty of variety, with ingredients from our own gardens whenever possible.

Fresh, satisfying food that makes sitting down together for a meal something to look forward to. After all, good food is just as much a part of the practice as time spent on the mat. by @lankayoga.lk

The lake we love and call home.

Koggala Lake is always changing. The light, the weather, the movement of the water, and the wildlife that shares its shores.

After all these years, there’s still something new to notice every day. by @lankayoga.lk

Graduation day at Lanka Yoga - three weeks of practice, study, teaching and getting to know one another.

This training had a little of everything. Plenty of rain in the beginning, beautiful weather towards the end, a salsa class with Sam and Camilla somewhere in the middle, and lots of laughter along the way. Rumi kept everyone entertained too.

Finishing Stefan’s 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training means more than receiving a certificate. It’s leaving with a deeper understanding of yoga, more confidence in your own practice and teaching, and friendships formed through three weeks of shared experience.

A lovely group of people to have with us.

Congratulations to our newest graduates, and thank you for being part of Lanka Yoga.

Fulfilling 🧘🏼‍♀️ by @lankayoga.lk

Your core should support the pose, not turn it into a stressful experience.

A little less tension, a little more movement. Ideally, enough freedom to enjoy a cup of tea while you’re at it. by @lankayoga.lk
