This morning’s #FunStop featured Commonwealth Games 200m bronze medallist Alana Reid in a fun maths and ping-pong challenge! Players had to solve a maths question to figure out how many ping-pong balls they needed, then race to throw the correct number into a bowl. Alana came out on top, but Debbie wasn’t exactly convinced she got a fair shot. 😆

After finding limited success with international trainers, Alana Reid decided to reunite with her high school coach Corey Bennett, this time back on home soil. The Commonwealth Games 200m bronze medallist joined us to talk about trusting her path, navigating the journey ahead and her church’s upcoming “Do It with the Spirit” 5K Walk/Run on September 19.

All glory to God. 🙏🏾🥉

This journey has been filled with challenges, sacrifices, victories, and lessons, but through it all, God has carried me every step of the way. Thank You, Lord, for giving me the strength to trust Your timing and Your plan, even when I couldn’t see the bigger picture.

To my coach, thank you for believing in me, pushing me beyond my limits, and preparing me to fight every battle that came my way. Your guidance, patience, and unwavering support have played a huge role in this achievement.

To my family, friends, and everyone who has supported me throughout this journey, thank you for every prayer, every encouraging word, and every moment you stood by me. I truly couldn’t have done it without you.

This season has been one I’ll never forget. I’m grateful to finish it as the Jamaican National Champion, NACAC Champion, and now a Commonwealth Games Bronze Medalist. 🥉🇯🇲

What a way to end my season.

The work doesn’t stop here—this is only the beginning. Thank you, God, for every blessing. The best is yet to come. ❤️🇯🇲 by @lannaa.g

brick by brick🙏🏾. by @lannaa.g

It’s hard to even put this moment into words because only God knows how much this means to me. Last night, I didn’t just win a race I saw the reward of every sacrifice, every setback, every tear, every prayer, every early morning, every lonely moment, every ounce of pain, and every bit of hard work I’ve poured into this journey.

Placing 7th in the 100m with a time of 11.17s could have easily discouraged me, but I refused to let that moment define the rest of my championships.

•To become the 2026 Jamaican National Champion in the 200m and to run a personal best of 22.29s is something I will never take for granted. There were so many moments behind the scenes that nobody saw, the times I was tired, the times I was hurting, the times I questioned myself, and the times I had to keep going even when it felt hard. This journey has demanded so much from me, but in moments like this, I’m reminded that every sacrifice was worth it.
I’m so proud of myself, not just for the result, but for the strength it took to keep showing up, to keep believing, and to keep working when the outcome was uncertain. This title means more to me because I know exactly what it took to get here.
•To everyone who supported me throughout this championship thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your support carried me more than you know, and I am so deeply grateful for each and every one of you.

A huge thank you to my Coach, Mr. CoreyBennett!! Thank you for believing in me, pushing me, challenging me, and standing by me through every high and low. Thank you for the sacrifices you made, for your patience, your guidance, and for continuing to pour into me even on the hard days. Your support, your trust in my ability, and the work we’ve put in together played such a huge part in this moment, and I’m so grateful to have you in my corner.
This is a moment I’ll hold close to my heart forever.
• Jamaican National 200m Champion.
• New Personal Best -22.29s 👩🏽‍🍳🙏🏾
•A dream, a prayer, and a blessing all in one. ❤️
And by God’s grace, this is only the beginning.
