WHAT A YEAR for Rock Voices Montclair! 🤩 In 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣5️⃣ we not only doubled our membership, pulled in our biggest concert crowd ever, and broke our fundraising records - twice - but we also doubled our number of official social events, and almost tripled our number of performances!?! Yup, we formally sang for audiences EIGHT times in 12 months! 😲🎉 #nottooshabby

Huge thanks to all of our families, friends, fans, and Google docs 😆 who have supported us in all kinds of ways this year. We are so very grateful and humbled for ALL of the time, energy, resources, and heart that has gotten woven into the fabric of this beautiful group, and for all of the people both in and outside of our choir who have contributed to making it all possible for all of us. We adore you - and we have LOVED getting out into the local community so much, while also truly building our own RV Montclair community too. ❤️

We look forward to upping the fun times even further from here, and we can hardly wait to serenade you more soon - spoiler alert: “Look out ‘cause HERE WE COME” 😉2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣6️⃣ - we’re wishing you and yours a very Happy, Healthy, and Harmonious New Year! 🎤🥳🥂🪩🎶✨ by @larissaligning

11/9 & 12/7 UPDATE: Thank you so much to all of our September and October Circle Singers! We are pulling our November and December dates down due to some unexpected calendar conflicts, though we’ll be rescheduling in the new year - please stay tuned! 💕

Remember Circle Singing at Make Music Montclair? I’m so excited to announce that a vision we had back then is finally becoming real: I am honored to be partnering with @thespacemontclair in bringing a monthly Circle Singing event to Montclair over a handful of Sundays this Fall! 🤩

Circle singing originates from indigenous and global community singing traditions, and has been popularized in modern culture by Bobby McFerrin. It involves the spontaneous creation and layering of melodies, harmonies, and rhythms, and leans on a practice that’s grounded in things like full self-expression, trust, and collaboration - using our voices to empower ourselves, and also to connect in community while we’re doing it.

No prior music or singing experience is necessary - everyone can participate - and every experience is unique, exploratory, and judgment-free. Plus, it’s most often a solid mood-boost of a good time! If you joined us in June, you know what magic we all created that day, and I hope we get to see you again for more - and if you’re new to the idea, I hope you’ll check things out!

DM me with any Qs and keep your calendars marked - our first date is SUNDAY 9/21 and I’m looking forward to singing with you then! Link in bio for tickets and more info. 🎶 ✨ by @larissaligning

We’re still lounging in the sparkly afterglow of our biggest and best concert ever - WOO! 🥰🤩🎶✨

THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who came out this past Sunday to support our MAM debut with such enthusiastic hand-clapping, toe-tapping, seat-filling energy. We had a blast with the whole packed room of you - nearly 300 people, sold-out and standing-room-only! 😲🎉

What’s more, our raffle raised a whopping $2685 for @casa_essex - a new donations record for Rock Voices Montclair, up by 34% from the prior personal best we hit last season!

Suffice it to say that we are on Cloud 867-5309(eee-eye-een…) and we’re not planning on coming down. ☁️9️⃣☁️

Whether you missed the MAM party or are ready for a rewatch, we’re excited to let you know that our full video playlist is now posted and ready for you on our YouTube channel - link in bio - so check it out!

And please keep watching this space for more concert photos, videos, and other RVM news coming soon. We’re recharging our batteries after a very successful summer season, though we’re also feeling super PUMPED UP to sing more already, so stay tuned! 🎤🎤🎤 by @larissaligning

Spent a too-short tech-free weekend scribbling and self-caring and singing with @sing.thebodyelectric at one of my favorite happy places. Here is the only picture I snuck in during some Saturday night quiet time, when common areas + night owls = processing bliss. ☺️✨ by @larissaligning

1️⃣4️⃣ years of NYC a cappella and I’m so happy and proud to say we’re somehow still at it! 🥰 Come join @thecurrentnyc at @littlefieldnyc on Sunday 7/20 for our biggest headline show of the year - tickets are $14 through 7/4 only (link in bio) - we’re excited to sing for you soon! 🎤🎂🧡🩵💙🎶 by @larissaligning

Make Music Montclair was GOOD. 🎉 I melted into a hot mess no more than 6 minutes after my leaving-the-house selfie - after which point I remembered to take zero pictures - so I’m borrowing some photo evidence in support of both of our 6/21 events actually happening, and I’m so very happy they did. 🎶🥰🎶

Not pictured: Me as an end-of-day puddle sucking down an Island Breeze smoothie from @thejuicehousemontclair like it was an IV🥤🥵yesss they always get it exactly right over there! 💕 by @larissaligning

Celebrating a big win with my first new business cards in at least a dozen years - they are only part 1 of a 3-part plan, but the fact that I’ve finally gotten this far into my own branding again is a milestone in itself - and one that we are deciding is plenty good enough to share now. ☺️ WOO! Aaand stay tuned… ⚡️⚡️⚡️ by @larissaligning

I’m veryyy excited to be facilitating my first public Circle Singing experience as part of @montclairmakesmusic this Saturday 6/21 at @thespacemontclair - please RSVP via link in bio to join me for a fun hour of vocal play and exploration! ✨
