- - - - - - - - The final round of the @mobimatter LATAM Crit Championships hit the Lampa Karting Track in Santiago, Chile this past weekend, delivering fast, flowing turns and a sharp, technical middle sector. - - - - - - - - - - - The final round of the @mobimatter LATAM Crit Championships hit the Lampa Karting Track in Santiago, Chile this past weekend, delivering fast, flowing turns and a punchy technical middle sector. After the men’s qualifiers, the women lined up for a hot lap to set the grid, with Spanish track champion and @1lifecycle rider @izzy_escalera clocking the fastest time to secure pole position. The final followed a classic format: 30 minutes plus two laps. Izzy and @_maangel_96 set the pace from the gun, riding together until Izzy launched a decisive move with ten minutes to go and powered away for a solid victory in her first fixed gear crit. @_maangel_96 from @genesiscyclingteam battled to hold on for a strong second, with @srta.vastef of @vikingosfixedgear delivering an impressive ride for third. Huge thank you to all the women racing the event, over the weekend as well as the series, who gave it everything from start to finish. #latamfixedcritchamps #fixedcrit #1lifecycle by @latamfixedcritchamps

@izzy_escalera travelled to Chile for the final round of the @mobimatter @latamfixedcritchamps, marking her debut in fixed gear criterium racing. She embraced the format immediately, setting the tone early by recording the fastest time in the pre final hot lap, securing pole position for the main event. The final consisted of 30 minutes plus two laps, and both @_maangel_96 of @genesiscyclingteam and Izzy went out at an exceptionally hard pace, riding together and pushing the field from the outset. With ten minutes remaining, Izzy delivered an attack that created a clear gap, which she maintained all the way to the finish for a commanding and well executed victory. It was a performance that highlighted her tactical sharpness and strength on the bike. This debut has only fuelled Izzy’s appetite for more fixed gear racing.
