We’ve been sharing this space for a while. Time to actually meet.

I grew up surrounded by art. It was always there, in the background, like something I was saving for later. A couple of years ago, later finally arrived.

I paint at home. Coffee. Music. Natural light. And flowers that never look exactly the same twice. That last part is what drew me to botanical subjects. Every petal has its own logic. Every specimen its own personality. That quiet uniqueness felt worth painting.

At some point I made a deal with myself: enjoy the process more than the result. Watercolor makes that easier. It has no patience for perfectionists.

If you are new here, welcome. This is a space about botanical watercolor, about the beauty of imperfection, and about finding something worth slowing down for. 🌸

Originals and commissions open — DM me anytime.

Now your turn, tell me where you are writing from and what brings you here. I would love to know who is on the other side.

Every painting has one moment where everything is at stake.

For me it’s the centre, where every petal meets, where the color has to shift without breaking, where one wrong stroke undoes what took hours.

So this is where I slow down and place every stroke on purpose.

Do you have a moment like this in your paintings?

I’ve been thinking about how little color can sometimes make a lotus feel alive.

With this painting, I found myself paying particular attention to the small areas of pink and red. Against the softer petals, those touches create the contrast that helps the flower emerge without losing its delicacy.

I love these little discoveries because they remind me that botanical painting can be both very precise and very quiet. There’s something satisfying about seeing a small decision change the character of the whole flower.

I’m curious about this one: which part of this lotus would you most want to see next: the petals, the center, or the leaves?

This is Reverie Rose — the fourth and final piece in a series that’s taken me through four very different moods.

Violet and magenta, built up in careful layers, against a background that still glows gold underneath. If this is your first time here: this rose closes out a series where I painted the same flower as four completely different worlds.

If you’ve followed along since the first one — thank you for staying with it this far. It means a lot.

The full series comes together soon, all four side by side. For now, here’s how this last one came to life.

Which of the four moods feels most like you right now? 🪻

Reverie Rose IV/IV, the last one.

I wanted this rose to feel like a return, not an ending. The same purple I used in Twilight shows up again here, but the light around it is completely different: warm gold instead of deep green, dusk instead of night. Same color, different world.

Four roses, four moods: a memory and a dream, the quiet hour after color fades, the warmth of a sky on fire, and now a rose that feels like it’s still deciding what it wants to become.

This one closes the series, but it’s also the one I keep looking at longest.

Would you want this one as a print, or does it feel like something you’d want as the original? 🪻

Glazing is the slowest part of painting a rose and the part that makes it look like it’s holding light.

Thin layers, one on top of the last. Each one has to dry before the next goes on. It’s not fast, but that’s exactly what gives the shadows their depth, the kind that makes them feel real instead of flat.

If you’re newer to watercolor, this is one of the most useful techniques to spend time with. It rewards going slow.

A small glimpse of the fourth rose. The last one in the series.

After Ethereal, Twilight, and Sunset, what mood do you think closes this series? 🪻

Hello friends,

Today I’m sharing the finished Sunset Rose and a glimpse into the details that brought it to life. 🌅

Warm golds, soft pinks, and touches of violet gradually came together to create the atmosphere I was looking for: luminous, radiant, and full of warmth.

This is the third mood in my series of four roses, each exploring a different world through watercolor.

If Sunset Rose reminds you of a place, a moment, or a memory, I’d love to hear about it. 🌹

Hello friends,

Today I’m sharing the finished Twilight Rose and a glimpse into the layers that brought it to life.

Deep violets, softened greens, and gentle shadows gradually shaped the atmosphere I was looking for: quiet, subtle, and just a little mysterious.

Swipe through to see how the painting emerged, layer by layer, from the first washes to the final details.

This is the second mood in my series of four roses, each exploring a different world through watercolor.

For those following the series, are you more drawn to Ethereal or Twilight so far? 🌹

Ethereal Rose I/IV — behind the process 🪻

The background started wet-on-wet. I wanted the color to move on its own before I had any control over it — something soft and unplanned-looking, even though every color choice in it was deliberate.

Once that dried, I switched to wet-on-dry for the petals. This is where the shape actually comes from — clean edges, controlled color, no bleeding into what’s next to it.

Glazing came last, in thin transparent layers, to build the shadows and depth without losing the light underneath. This is the part that took the longest, and honestly, it’s the part I enjoy most.

I didn’t set out to use three different approaches. Each one just became necessary at a different stage.

This is Rose I from a four-part series I’m currently working through — Rose II is already up, with two more moods still coming. 🪻

Which of these three techniques feels most like you — or is there one you’d want to actually learn?

Hello friends,

If Ethereal Rose belonged to a dream, this one belongs to the hour just before nightfall.

The first rose in this series felt light, distant, almost like a memory. This second one called for something quieter. Deep violets, softened greens, and a different kind of beauty.

This one is Twilight Rose. 🌹
The second mood in a series of four roses, each exploring a different world through watercolor.

I wanted to capture the feeling of walking through a garden at dusk, when the colours deepen, the light fades gently, and everything becomes a little more mysterious.

Which mood speaks to you more so far: Ethereal or Twilight?

I can’t wait to share the final reveal of the second painting in this series with you all soon.

I’ve been wanting to paint roses differently for a while.

Not just the flower — the feeling behind it. The mood it carries before you even look closely.

This is the first one. I wanted it to feel like something between a memory and a dream. The background came first — blues and violets bleeding into each other while the paper was still wet. Then the rose emerged from it, petal by petal, like it was always there waiting.

I’m calling this one Ethereal Rose. It’s the first in a series of four — each one a different mood, a different world.

Details of my first collection coming soon.

Would you choose a print to keep this feeling close, or would you want the original?

Which mood do you think comes next? 🪻
