Binder and a breast pump…Come From Away Pt. 2 💙✈️

This was a dream role for me to say the least and I could not have done it without the help of countless sitters, family members, cast mates, neighbors and friends at home and in MA who got Elliot to/from school and took care of him when he got home and Myles while I was in rehearsals and shows.

Mom, you were an immense help the final 2 weeks and @robmarnell , you held down the fort at home so I could be on stage and remember who I am outside of the role of “mom.” A HUGE HUGE THANK YOU to you all for making this a reality for my soul, my creativity and my spirit. My heart is full and I’m so glad my babies could “watch what mama does” as Rob kept saying. The sleepless nights, washing bottle parts at 2:00 AM on a hot pot, pumping and nursing on demand, all worth it! Seemingly impossible things can indeed happen if you are lucky enough to have the love and support that I received from a multitude of people. 🙏

Special shout out to @susanoliveras for holding the baby so I could shower after the show one night! Another shout out to the entire company for listening to me talk about clogged milk ducts (or duds as @eife22 calls them) for an entire week 🤪

Between show snuggles with my tiny tot. This picture means the world to me. In a wig cap with my baby. In a world and industry that many times makes you feel like you have to pick one or the other, here is proof that both can exist. Motherhood AND artistry. It’s beyond difficult and seems impossible much of the time but it IS possible. I’m putting this here to remind myself during the in between times when I’m missing performing and missing the creative part of myself that gets lost in the day to day routine of raising 2 children which is both wonderful and all consuming.

I cannot thank @kpchill2211 @chappy423 @therealmcbride @officialnsmt @dgrwinc for giving this recently postpartum mama the opportunity to get back on stage so soon, something my soul was craving after having been away from it for months while pregnant and after the birth of my first son. Thank you truly for allowing me the space and grace to find myself on stage again in the body I have right now. I’ve never once felt the superficial pressure from these creatives nor my agents that the industry often pours on birthing people, especially when their body has changed and is in the process of changing. I’ve never done a show with an infant before, nursing and pumping on demand and the folks at North Shore have been the EXAMPLE of support, understanding, compassion, empathy, kindness, the list goes on and on. Thank you for going on this journey with me and figuring it out with me along the way 🫶

May every theatre, every creative team and every agency treat every parent as such. I feel incredibly lucky and grateful to these people who have shown me and my whole family such love. And proof that 2 beautiful and seemingly impossible things can coexist 🙏💗✈️

Geriatric pregnancy Part 3

Geriatric pregnancy Part 2

Geriatric pregnancy Part 1:

It’s wild that anyone over the age of 35/40 and having a baby is considered geriatric or more recently termed “advanced maternal age.” Society has all sorts of fun ways of showing what a “normal” pregnant person should look like (and don’t get me started on body image expectations for pregnant people once the baby is OUT)!

I decided to lean into my second pregnancy and allow myself the time and space to feel fully glamorous and powerful. Thanks to @salishathomas I found the most incredible photographer who honestly made me feel the most beautiful I’ve ever felt in my life.

Endless gratitude to the ever so talented @loveprintphotography for allowing me to fully love and celebrate my body during this most miraculous time. I wish every person could have a session with her. The very first image she showed me on her camera I began to cry. Feeling my inner strength and extraordinary power; this vessel which is my body, I had forgotten as my self image got washed away over doom scrolling and images of what is and isn’t “acceptable.” And all the fear several doctors instilled in me as I carried this baby. For the first time in either of my pregnancies, I felt exactly “right” and a wave of sheer happiness and awe was suddenly felt deep within my soul.

2 months postpartum I’m finally coming above water (a bit) to post! Learning how to navigate life with 2 kids is wild and nonstop but every time I look at these images I can’t help but smile and feel super emotional. What the body is capable of is truly astounding. So here’s to all the geriatric pregnant folks out there! And here’s to loving, embracing and celebrating your amazing body exactly as you are, wherever you are NOW. 💗💗💗💗

With all of the destruction and heartache in our country and world, families being torn apart, countless innocent lives stuck in wars they have nothing to do with, there doesn’t seem to be any appropriate time to post this as we continue to mourn with all families suffering from unbearable heartbreak, uncertainty and loss. We are hoping to add some much needed joy and hope in our broken world with this announcement of new life. Our little bundle arrives next month…surprise! It has been a busy past 8 months but we are very grateful to have the luck, privilege and opportunity to expand our family. Elliot is thrilled to be a big brother and we are overjoyed with full hearts. 🙏💕

(of course we had to do a “here we go again” announcement as we gear up for another year of @robmarnell doing Mamma Mia! 🪩🕺) by @laurelnyc

Last week’s Broadway In Bedford delivered unforgettable performances 🎭✨

Jonathan Christopher (Hamilton), DeLaney Westfall (Sweeney Todd, Beautiful, Sideshow, Kinky Boots, The Lost Boys), and Laurel Harris (Beautiful, Wicked, Jagged Little Pill) brought Golden Age classics and holiday favorites to life, with Dan Micciche (Wicked) on piano.

A truly special night of Broadway brilliance. 🎶
