Austin: The Red Power Ranger “It all started with I was driving my Duramax every day and diesel got really expensive. I was like, okay. Well, Time to buy daily. I'm looking through marketplace. Looking through things. Like what do I want? I'm looking at like TDI wagons, Audis, other regular shit. And then I seen this Honda: Carbon hood, got some wheels on it, lowered, I see that it's motor swapped and boosted. I'm like holy fuck. This is either going to be a really really good decision or really really bad decision. So I go look at it, It seems like it's running alright enough to where I'm like ok I’ll inspect it. Certain things that I'm noticing that aren't that great, but I'm fucking excited to buy this thing. So you know what I'm going to get it. l take it out to my buddy's shop out in Richmond. When I started looking around even more, I realized the turbo's not bolted on properly. So I fix that and It starts making more boost. It's huffing smoke, it’s not running good but whatever. The next day I take it out to a cars and coffee in Burnaby. Thing fucking blows the turbo on the way back on the highway. Cop sees it all happen. Smoke fills the highway. And I got a VI second day of owning it. So I tried to slap another turbo on, thinking that would fix it and had the same fucking problem. And I was like you know what? I’ll just revert it back to NA. I had to fix so much that previous owners had done to the car. The inside was fucked so I sourced all the interior panels and got new seats. Lowered it even more, redid the exhaust on it. I was painting a plane at work with this red that I loved, so I took that mix and resprayed the whole car with it. Over the next year or two, I want to get the engine ready for more boost. Pistons, rods, cranks, the works. Plan is to make around 600 and do an all-wheel drive conversion. The idea is to make it a show car for the @lavish.industries brand but make stupid power and be insane to drive.” -Austin @lavish.ej8 #ej8 #builtcivic #civicej8 #custompaintjob #livelavish by @lavish.ej8
