If you have a curious kid who wants to know how EVERYTHING works, save this booklist! 🔎📚

My two boys are constantly asking questions about the world around them, and I love finding books that feed that curiosity. These are the kinds of books that can turn one little question into an entire afternoon of exploring!

📚 Cross Sections
These books let kids peek inside buildings, vehicles, and other fascinating structures to see what’s going on beneath the surface. If your child loves figuring out how things are built and what’s inside them, these are SO good!

🚢 Working Boats
Perfect for kids fascinated by boats and ships! The detailed illustrations let kids explore the different parts of working boats and discover how they do their jobs.

🔎 DK Panorama
Packed with detailed illustrations and fold-out pages, these books give kids so much to explore. They’re the kind of books where you can look at the same page over and over and still notice something new!

⚙️ How Things Work
This one has an older edition and a newer, updated version. I only own the version pictured, so I can’t speak to the differences between them, but it’s a great option for kids who want to understand the science and mechanics behind how things work.

💬 Comment CURIOUS and I’ll send you my full booklist!

Special thanks to @bluestarpress and @lbfbooks for my copies of the Working Boat Series

We’ve been working on these children’s books over the past year, as our own kids turn 1, 2, 3 and 4! It’s been such a special assignment to illustrate some of the things we love most about living in Alaska and share them with our own kids—and the next generation growing up here.

These books celebrate the big, wild childhood we feel so lucky to give them: days spent outside fishing, harvesting, playing, working, exploring and learning from nature. Seeing a little bit of that life come alive on the pages has made these books especially meaningful to us.

We’re so proud to have created these keepsakes for Alaskan families, and hope they inspire the next generation of little Alaskans to know, love and care for this incredible place we get to call home. ❤️ @sasquatchbooks
