SUCH STUFF New Works in Print What is made, what remains, and what slips from view. An exhibition of new work by Karen Daye-Hutchinson, Louis Daye Hutchinson and Ben Smith, bringing together three distinct approaches to printmaking, image-making and the traces we leave behind. From the charged presence of the natural world to fleeting human gestures and half-remembered forms, these works explore the uncertain territory between observation and imagination, permanence and disappearance. Each print becomes an encounter with something shifting: an image caught between revelation and obscurity, the tangible and the imagined. Taking its title from Shakespeare’s The Tempest, Such Stuff invites us to consider how worlds are made, how images hold meaning, and how little separates what we see from what we dream. What Will Be on Display at Such Stuff: New Works in Print The Such Stuff: New Works in Print exhibition will showcase a collection of original printmaking artworks by three artists: Louis Daye Hutchinson, Ben Smith and Karen Daye-Hutchinson. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore three individual artistic practices, each bringing its own approach, techniques, visual language and creative perspective to the world of printmaking. The exhibition will feature a variety of printed works exploring themes of memory, imagination, the natural world, texture, identity and personal expression. Through experimental approaches to printmaking, the artists investigate how images, materials, surfaces and marks can communicate ideas and experiences. Louis Daye Hutchinson’s work explores the relationship between the human body, brain anatomy, memory and the natural environment. His practice brings together anatomical imagery, branching structures and organic forms, using experimental printmaking processes to investigate connections between internal and external worlds. His work considers how the body, mind and environment can be translated into expressive visual forms. Ben Smith and Karen Daye-Hutchinson will also present their individual printmaking practices, contributing different approaches and perspectives to the exhibition. Together, the three artists demonstrate the diversity of printmaking and how the medium can be used to explore a wide range of subjects, ideas and visual possibilities. Beyond the individual artworks, the exhibition celebrates creative exchange, mentorship, peer support and intergenerational learning. It brings together three artists connected through their shared interest in printmaking, while recognising the importance of individuality, experimentation and artistic development. Such Stuff offers visitors an opportunity to experience the richness of contemporary printmaking and discover how three different artistic voices can come together within one exhibition. by @ldhprintmaker

SUCH STUFF Three artists. Three distinct practices. One shared space for printmaking to challenge, connect and evolve. Such Stuff brings together Conway Mill artists Louis Daye Hutchinson, Ben Smith and internationally recognised printmaker Karen Daye-Hutchinson RE RUA in an exhibition exploring artistic individuality, creative exchange and the value of making work alongside others. Across the gallery space, each artist’s distinctive approach to printmaking takes centre stage, revealing different perspectives, processes and visual languages. United by their collaborative studio environment, their practices demonstrate that creative community need not produce a single voice; instead, it creates the conditions for individual voices to grow stronger. Rooted in mentorship, peer support and intergenerational exchange, Such Stuff celebrates the power of artists learning from one another while forging their own paths. Opening: Saturday, 7 November 2026, 1pm–4pm Venue: 4th Floor Artists’Studios, Conway Mill, Belfast Exhibition Continues – 20th December Please contact me for private viewing by @ldhprintmaker

“Rooted” - - - - - - - - - - - An experimental print exploring the relationship between nature, memory, and resilience. The twisting branches and layered marks create a sense of movement and tension, reflecting how experiences can become deeply rooted within us. The contrast between the dark tree and fragmented blue sky suggests both struggle and moments of clarity. #LDHPrintmaker #Rooted #TreePrint #Printmaking #FineArt by @ldhprintmaker
