May (2021) ★ ★ ★ ★

While the month’s end was a bit drearier than expected (and, frankly, for engaged viewers, jarringly so) May is an exceedingly optimistic and affirming experience. May reminds us that thoughtful consumption begets creation, all raves are BYO, and drinking outdoors is healthy (while drinking indoors is a sin).

The month’s structure did feel a bit unsustainable over the 31 day run time and the romantic subplot felt forced, and, mostly, didn’t work at all.

May (2021) is expected to release wide in the coming weeks. If you can catch it, would recommend. taken in Brooklyn, New York by @afterimage

This week my experimental short “Found on iPhone” premiered at the @festivalecra! It’s been very cool to see all the responses, including a thoughtful review from @planoaberto.

The film is comprised entirely of found footage recovered from display iPhones at Apple Stores — clips that were recorded and left to sit in public, without the intention of being shared.
