The truth is stories matter ✨

And with that, the final performance of The Gifting is over.

This year, like all the others before and all the others yet to come, has been made of stories. Stories we made into memories together.

Thank you to everyone who has joined us at Versa Studios over the last week. We've loved sharing special moments with you 💞

The Gifting has been a true team effort with a brilliant cast, crew, volunteers and wider team making it happen.

Co-produced with @slung_low and @britishlibrary. Supported by @heritagefunduk, @aceagrams and @westyorkshire_ca.

A gorgeous documentary from @brettinthecity following the amazing children of @ingramroadps

We are often asked about the legacy of the year of culture and of creative work. These talented, creative young people are part of that legacy. Can't wait to see what they do next!

Delighted that the 3rd chapter of our LEEDS 2023 x @eaststreetarts collaboration is up in the city as part of A City Less Grey bringing @mohammad.barrangi's murals to different parts of Leeds. I spotted this one in yesterday - makes a real impact... The series, Last Dream, will be on display in locations across the city that trace places of meaning to Mohammad’s present life in Leeds. Beginning in a bus stop in West Park – the area in which the artist lives – the exhibition journeys via ten poster drums, across Headingley and the city centre, to a piece on Mabgate – marking the artist’s route to work – and culminates at East Street Arts’ cultural hub on St Mary’s Lane, where Mohammad’s studio is situated. Despite being shown in the city that Mohammad now calls home, the temporary nature of the paper murals, which will weather when exposed to the elements of a Yorkshire winter, is a stark reminder of the instability and fragility of the artist’s past. Street art is so important in our living environments.. by @leeds2023
