When you think of healing, do you take time to consider how much of your reality is wrapped up IN the brokenness?

How much your playing small and making excuses validates that void each and every day?

Do you consider WHO you will become when that pain can no longer determine how you show up in life?

Or does the fear of “losing yourself” consume you?

I see so many clients who’ve gotten STUCK in the “process” of healing that they never actually heal.

They come to me when they’ve had enough 😵‍💫

As our life is always a reflection of what we believe on the INSIDE, dissecting the mental conditioning often changes what we see and feel and think and experience…

Which can be quite scary for those who are addicted to the struggle.

In fact, many will unconsciously FIGHT to STAY stuck just because they haven’t CREATED a vision of their healed self clear enough to become their new aim.

It’s scary to think of losing oneself in the process.

Losing what you “know” to be “true” when that’s all you’ve ever known.

Losing what feels “safe” even if it’s rooted in pain and suffering to allow joy and abundance to come through.

Losing the ability to MAKE excuses when you feel self doubt about your capabilities.

And having to FACE your greatness AS a Creator of your own reality.

But, if you SAY you want to heal, you’re asking for this piece of you to dissolve. You’re asking for this void to be filled.

Which in turn means…

You will no longer operate AS the victim to that past experience.

So the question is…

Are you READY for that? 💪🏼 by @legacywellnessclinic

Playing small is NOT fulfilling…

Yet you keep setting these TINY little goals hoping and wishing and praying that you’ll some how feel worthy of better.

There will be times where your back is up against the wall. Times where you feel like you have NO other choice.

Where you HAVE to take a path that you clearly don’t WANT to take.

Just know, the universe sees you as SO much more than you see yourself.

So to assume that playing small is virtuous is to tell the universe “give me the challenges I need to grow because I don’t feel CAPABLE of conquering anything bigger than what I’m doing daily.”

You’re literally playing life by default patterns instead of being a conscious creator of your own existence.

Play BIG or Source will make you.

It’s all a choice. by @legacywellnessclinic

2 decades removed from a food addiction and there’s one thing I had to learn overall…

I was NOT a victim.

I was NOT powerless.

I was NOT governed by the food.

I was attached to the emotions that were attached TO the food.

When my parents separated, I was 6. My entire reality…SHOOK.

In those early days, my dad made time for me. The most memorable weekends I spent with him involved:

Fast food 🍔🍟

Donuts 🍩

Hostess cream pies 🥧

And 🧁

As he began weaning himself from my life, spending more and more time with his new family, sugar became a substitute for his “love.”

The more I ate, the more the pain was numbed.

It’s caused a cascade of damage…

Inflammatory gut and joints

Depression

Chronic bronchitis which eventually led to autoimmune.

Over the years, I’d tried ALL the “diets” from Jenny Craig (in 4th grade) to the Cabbage Soup diet. Fat-free. Carb-free. Low protein.

But NOTHING broke the feelings of powerlessness in the presence of junk food…

Until…

The third doctor diagnosed me with clinical depression. I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. I was 21.

By the age of 25, I’d managed to lose a lot of weight but hadn’t quite overcome the addiction to struggle.

I made a vision board, my first ever, to help me stay focused on the healing and full transformation. I set my sights on bodybuilding and studied the pros.

I was committed to end the cycle once and for all.

And by the following summer, 2004, I’d cracked the code…

Left my culinary career behind…

And became a full-time personal trainer.

Since then, my whole world has been devoted to uprooting these life-long struggles whether through fitness, food or spiritual psychology.

One thing is absolutely sure: food addiction CAN be overcome WHEN you’re willing to face the way you’ve used it as a weapon against yourself.

When you’re willing to SEE how your identity is wrapped up in the struggle and trade it in for something better.

What’s most amazing about this: this concept of identifying with struggle shows up in EVERY area of life. So the challenge of transformation is ALWAYS rooted in HOW we identify with the issue…not the issue itself.

Food cravings can be uncontrollable until you understand the root of their power.

I battled for YEARS feeling like a victim to food.

Like it had some mystical power over me and I was powerless to it.

Just the smell of junk food sent a cascade of emotions running through my brain and body. 😫

The food would talk to me…

Just one bite.

Just a couple more.

If you eat this whole pan, you won’t have to suffer the cravings tomorrow. Yeah, just do that so you can start fresh tomorrow.

It was an uphill battle.

Daily.

Emotions have power but they can be used as tools FOR our highest good IF we are willing to accept that everything IS a choice.

You can do this.

You can break the cycle.

You don’t have to face it alone.

As with any addictive pattern, the root cause can be dissolved.
